G.A.I.A. - HMS 'Relentless Fire'
About this creation
HMS 'Relentless Fire', a new English addition to the G.A.I.A. fleet. Shown here in 'fresh from the shipyard' colours, when fully commissioned, she will receive her G.A.I.A. heraldry and colourscheme.

In low Earth orbit. Very heavily armed, this is an appropriately named ship.

View from above.

Closeups showing the main batteries and secondary command structures.

Under the main bridge.

The top of the bridge, showing observation ports and more weaponry.

Looking down on the forward hangar bays.

The belly of the beast.

A few shots showing detailing on the underside.

I have no idea where I'm going to put this thing :/

Long live G.A.I.A.!

Quoting Tim C Hey, Jon. Let me first say that I can't get enough of looking at this SHIP. I'm probably a quarter of your views. But I wanted to ask you a question. I was toying with the idea of adding a "Current Fave" portion of my page where I put a picture of one of my favorite MOCs from other builders with a link to the MOC and the builder's page. Relentless Fire was the first one I wanted to feature. Would I have your permission to do that?
Hi Tim, sorry for the delay, not had much time for LEGO recently, busy with work :/ Hoping that will change soon! Thanks for the comment, and I'd be honoured :)

Amazing ship! Wonderfully detailed and some very cool parts useage. I´m so in love with the greeblings, here. They look so dang right. Not too much and they don´t make the ship seem too vulnerable. (Logical would be no greebling, but also boring) My personal best part: the hangars. I can´t help myself, but the yellow chevrons look so cool! P.S.: Thanks for commenting on my little ships, it´s an honour. Even though the don´t reach your class of building. ~Cheers

ah, finally, a G.A.I.A ship that doesn't look like some real-world warship with thrusters strapped to the back! and the usual red-and-blue color scheme (no offense to whoever came up with it) is rather ugly. besides, enemy ships could spot it from five hundred miles without the assistance of sensors. this ship's dark bley and tan color scheme is gorgeous, and I hope G.A.I.A. doesn't have enough paint to recolor it. the detailing is really nice as well (though it could use some more guns). all around, nice work!

Quoting Pedro the Puerto Rican Quick question, but are you ever going to build another big SHIP like this? Just curious, because I think you have the potential to really go in on a huge project sometime in the future, and really pull it off with a BANG. - Pedro

Quoting Tim C FINALLY!! My goodness, Jon. This is your first microscale, right? It is just magnificent. I have been watching the WIP pics that you have been posting, and I figured that I already saw what there was to see, but seeing it finished is a thing worth waiting for. Of course the bridge is superb, and the colors are great, (as yours always are), and the weaponry is very signature Jon B. But, I must say, my favorite part is all the greebling. I have always been a fan of your greebling, and this is an absolute showcase for that talent. So, of course you know, the question becomes...what next?
Cheers Tim, and sorry for taking so long, I can't believe how quickly the hours disappear in the LEGO room :/ Glad you like the greebling, its always fun as you know. My problem is knowing when to stop ;) Something small and colourful next I think, watch this space!

Quoting Parrington Levens Best GAIA ship ever! Holy heck Jon, this is jaw dropping. Those yellow arrows are a good clue into the sheer patience and artistry on show here. Gorgeous smooth details and a wicked shape. Mad gun batteries and that bridge is just awesome. Same for the nose of the craft. Too much to mention. Love this thing mate, and love that it's out of a British yard with 'dock colours' Perfect!
Thanks Parrington, really glad you like it, and a big thanks for creating such a detailed and interesting scenario with GAIA - its fun to build for, and full of inspiration. You may regret saying that GAIA fighters' colours follow no standards though - I feel the need to build something really colourful after all this dark bley. Better get your shades ready ;p

Quoting Jonathan Rindfleisch It's amazing, but you could've worked more on the stand.
Cheers, and you're right about the stand, it's pretty hideous! It's the stand I made to actually build the ship on, so designed more for strength and stability than for looks. I'll definitely make a more elegant stand for displaying it!

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Wow! Have you kidnapped Jassim to build for you? ;) Superb design and colour scheme, the tan/dark bley is awesome. I also notice some fantastic parts use, and brilliant angles. I don't envy you the challenge of supporting all this mass, the interior must be a mess of technic! Certainly a change from your starfighters, great work!
Shhh! Don't tell everyone ;) Surprisingly little technic in there tbh, the majority of that is in a simple 3 feet long 4x4 'SNOT Stick', plus a couple of horizontal braces where the stand fits. Thanks for the comments, appreciated :)
