About this creation
Welcome to my biggest and best creation yet, Kaareif Manor. The private home/monastery/fortress of Kaareif Saabrio Saef, the manor is well guarded and of sturdy construction. I based it off aspects from a campaign I've been working on in Dungeons & Dragons.

As you can see I built this as a cutaway so there is an interior, although I'll get to that later.

Diagonal view

The other diagonal

Saabrio Saef's personal boat. The sail technique is Blake Baer's, it's just too good to pass up.

Kaareif Saabrio Saef stands on his balcony. The wall decoration between the two stained glass windows is inspired by El Barto !. Also, Kaareif is a title like Baron, so I may omit it at times during this commentary.

A farther out view. Some of the architecture was inspired by A P.

The main stained glass window.

The spiral stairs were one of the first aspects I built. They're tougher than they look!

A low view. I like how this shot shows the curve of the shore.

Some rocks to break up the water.

A snake sticks its head out from a crevice.

A fisherman goes to sell his wares.

I knew from the beginning that I wanted a dark tan path, but the only piece I had enough of was 1x2 sloped bricks. Laying them on a slant so the slope faced up, and twisting them slightly, I managed to get a curved and textured studless path. This is probably one of my favourite parts of the MOC.

The roof.

The tower. The tower's roof is inspired by a micro-scale temple I had built for an older stop-motion.

And now it's time for the interior.

On the tower's top floor two guards watch the bay.

And on the first floor an archer stands watch. The sword behind quiver technique's Ru Corder's.

The Kaareif's room. Note the shield being used as a table.

The chief guard patrols the hallway connected to Kaareif Saabrio's room.

Said hallway.

A private worshipping room. As you can see the stained glass is unobstructed, meaning the cheese is held merely by gravity and friction. It only fell apart once!

Under the castle there's a large storeroom.

A poor peasant family has spent generations chipping a tunnel connecting their house to the storeroom. Finally this man succeeded, and he's ready to eat like a king. Or at least like a Kaareif.

Another underground room is found farther from the castle. It is the study of a powerful mage, and he's brewing a potion.

A cupboard. It has a gem inside; although the door wouldn't stay open long enough for me to take a picture.

Hidden under a sign the wizard stores some spell components.

Thanks for viewing!

Hey, I've just joined a team without any spare room, so I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to join up with me in the SWMocAthalon. If you intend on competing though, I'm sure there're still plenty of teams!

Hey, would you be up for teaming up with me in this? http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/20354
Don't worry, it's not nearly as much building as the actual MocAthalon, and it takes place over two months.
Thanks for the invite, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be competing. I'm in a lot of other contests right now. I'll have to find out when it starts. ;) I'll let you know! |

It is always nice to see with how many details and storybranches you come up for most of your MOCs. This is always very entertaining and interesting to read.
