I entered this in one of Lego's MBA contests, but I saw other people's entries that blow this out of the water, heck, even vaporize this off the face of the Earth. Even so, I love The Hornet. To me, it is one of the coolest things I've built so far.
About this creation
Description: Obviously, (I don't like when people say "obviously" but this SHOULD be obvious to the average person) the black and yellow color scheme symbolizes the black and yellow stripes of a real hornet. The backwards-pointed cone-shaped engine exhaust port represents the stinger on a bee. Lastly, the swept-back tail fins mimic the trailing legs of a hornet in flight.
This is NOT Starwars, this is general futuristic space war.
The purpose of The Hornet is as a super fast quick-assault starfighter.
120 can be deployed at once out of mini-hangars in the side of the cruiser they are on to "swarm" out into space engulfing an enemy cruiser or obliterating attacking enemy squadrons of spacecraft.
The Hornet is armed with one heavy blaster cannon, two medium repeating blasters, four light repeating blasters (two on each wing-tip), and two guided air-to-air or air-to-ground missiles.
Sorry for the bad photography, my camera is old and I don't have a whole lotta skills in that department.
