I love the idea of showing the aftermath rather than the battle. At first I thought the dragon head was an arm. If it had visible eyes it might sell the effect more immediately. Great concept!

I think the posture of the dragon slayer, along with the look of his face, are perfect for this scene. I can imagine him trudging through the forest and rock formations, sweat brimming down his face, longing to get home with his catch.
