Approximately 4 days after to the events in Chapter 7. As the Jedi finish the liberation of New Cov, Jedi Master Boris Yakerno still investigates the assassination attempt on Senator Ralone. His search leads him to the desert world of Tatooine to find the culprit behind the attack...

(Boris walks toward a shady cantina on the outskirts of Mos Eisley)
Boris-What was it Obi-Wan called this place? 'A wretched hive of scum and villainy'. Hmph, well at least I'm almost dome with this forsaken dustbin.
(He walks up to a shady looking man leaning against the cantina wall)
Man-You Come here often, stranger?
Boris-Only as often as it rains.
(The code-phrase completed the man grins at Boris)
Bill-Why Boris you old son-of-a-gun! How did you ever end up out here!
Boris-It's good to see you too Bill! Besides you know why I'm here.
Bill-Yes, investigating the Senator's almost demise I know. Come on It's burning out here.
(They enter the cantina, there are several patrons conversing and a Hutt occupying one corner of the bar)
Bill-There's you man..er..slug. Dagnah the Hutt, he controls operations here for some shadowy crime lord working out of Nar Shadda. If anyone knows something it's him.
Bill-Dagnah! Hey here's the guy I told you about He's got some business to talk about!
Dagnah-*Bring Him here!* *Ho! Ho! Ho! A human, what business do you have with Dagnah the Hutt?
Boris-I'd like some information, if you can spare it, a certain Senator from Nar Shadda was attacked on Coruscant about two weeks ago. I thought you might know something.
Dagnah-*Senator? I don't recall.*
Boris-Prehaps 2,000,000 Republic Credits refresh your memory?
Dagnah-*Ho! Ho! Ho! Smart human! Smart! Unfortunately for you I was told to look out for meddlesome Jedi and 2-million Republic Credits just proved it! Kill Him!*
(The assassin droid opens fire as Boris quickly sidesteps the blast)
(Boris finishes the droid as Bill blasts a Gamorrean)
(Boris deflects the Rodian's blast as Bill shoots finishes it)
Boris-Now about that senator...
Dagnah-*Please mercy good Jedi! I'm only following orders! I'll do anything you want!*
Bill-What we want is to know who ordered Senator Ralone dead.
Dagnah-*Alright I'll tell! I work for a man on Nar Shadda, I only know him by Victor. He's a new crime lord but he's already made himself the law on Nar Shadda! Not even the hutts will touch him! Why I-*
Boris-Where can we find this man?
Dagnah-*Ah, well I don't know...I have a data-pad which my men are retrieving right now...*
(Three loud gun shots are shot off as Boris and Bill turn around)
(Standing in the doorway are three of Dagnah's thugs)
Hector Yeal-Excuse me gentlemen, Do we have a problem here?
Dagnah-*Ah, Hector no these are just some "friends". Do you have the boy?*
(Hector brings a struggling Tatooine youth in the cantina, eying the Jedi suspiciously)
Hector-Right here slug! And tough to catch he was! No good thief!
Vince Yond'Ull-I'm no thief! The only thief here is that no good extorting slug!
Dagnah-*Silence boy! You have caused far more trouble than you're worth! Make him kneel!*
(Hector knocks Vince on one knee before the hutt, putting a pistol to his head)
Boris-Wait what are you doing? What has this boy done to deserve this?
Dagnah-*None of your business Jedi! This street trash has been sabotaging my operations for years! And just recently stole a very important data-pad which you need!*
Vince-That's because you took my parents away from me! You murderer!
Boris-You can't just kill him in cold blood...
Dagnah-*Quiet Jedi! Stay out of this if you know what's good for you!*
Boris-No, I will not allow you to harm this boy!
(Boris unleashes a force blast sending Hector flying over the bar)
(The thug gets up and starts wildly firing at Boris)
Hector-Die scum!
(Vince hits the floor and picks up the assassin droid's blaster)
Vince-Here goes nothing....
(He leaps up and fires hitting Hector square in the face)
(Outside the other thugs scream as a Tusken raider band chases them away)
(Boris exits the cantina)
Boris-What a stroke of luck.
(Bill comes out, Dagnah cursing in the background)
Bill-Well, that was a great waste of time.
Boris-Indeed, and here i thought I was almost done with this dustbin. Hmm, Victor. On Nar Shadda that could be anyone. What are we doing about the hutt?
Bill-Don't worry about him, I've got several agents coming to take him into custody, he'll be in jail for a long time.
(Vince runs out as the two start to walk away)
Vince-Wait! Wait! I have something for you!
Bill-Stop right there! This is a Jedi you have no business...
Boris-Calm yourself Bill, we saved him might as well talk to the rascal. What is it boy?
Vince-Well, umm thank you for...you know...saving me...I have this disk here, Dagnah said you wanted it...I did steal it but....
Boris-It's quite fine, I know Dagnah is not a good being to say the least!
Vince-Well I was wondering, in exchange for the disk if you would take me off this planet. Anywhere! I don't care! My parent's they're...
Boris-I understand. You know we can't take just any young ruffian that comes to us, and I could just as easily take this data-pad and leave you high and dry. But I sensed something in you when you came in, that was the first time you held a blaster, no?
Vince-Ya, first time...
Boris-Well I'm not sure what it is about this planet and Jedi, maybe the whether, but you're force-sensitive boy and you're going to be a Jedi! What do you say?
Vince-A Jedi! Well anything's better than this dustbin!
Boris-That's the spirit! Come on let's go!
(*later, at nightfall*)
Dr. Rastem-These Jedi certainly leave exquisite messes Count.
Count Dooku- Did you find what you came for?
Rastem-Yes, I have taken the appropriate materials...
Dooku-And left no trace?
Rastem-Not one. As far as the Republic is concerned Dr. Rastem is still dead.
Dooku-Good, return to the rally point at once we will soon see if your inventions were worth the trouble.
(end transmission)
Rastem-Destroy the remains of the cantina and make sure to leave plenty of evidence pointing to the Republic.
Battle Droid-Roger. Roger.
Rastem-We'll see just just how powerful these Jedi are, and all of the Republic will fear the name of Dr. Rastem!
