Moon Base ALPHA III
Two years after the foundation of Alpha Base, I created this new base, intregrating the Space Shuttle set (that for me, born in the '70 years, The Space Shuttle was the door for the stars... our dream) ... The November Base was designed to be the first steep to Mars mission. The Space Shuttle brings the materials from the Earth and in the NOVEMBER Base it is prepared to come back with new fuel tank and with two new lateral rockets. The LL928 spacecruisers are used to transport the material to assembly the new space station orbitant around Mars. For additional transport to Mars orbit it is possible to use the DELTA craft, a small space cruiser launched like a Shuttle but a big bay for the material.
About this creation
"Welcome on the Moon, Sirs... Would you like a cup of coffee?"

The arrival of the Space Shuttle from Earth

The landing strip is located in front of the Moon Base, the only problem is to stop the traffic before the Shuttle landing... (I lost one jeep in the crash with the Shuttle landing gear!)

Today from Earth the Shuttle brings some bier...

The Shuttle in launch position, the fueling of the tank is proceeding...

8...7...6...5...4...engines ignition...3...

Morning briefing to the space cadets...

The "Giant", the craft to move the DELTA from the hangar to the launch site

40 meters lenght, 6 electric motors to move independently the 6 track

The "Giant"'s cabin and its driver, Tom "The Dud", the only guy that could drive the 40 meters vehicle trought the base installations doing little damage as possible... (at today the damages list is: two jeeps, one crane, one fuel tank, a dent in the Shuttle wing)

"I arrived from right side!!!"
... 3 jeeps....

NOVEMBER Base overview, the six LL928 space cruisers are ready on the landing sites around the Base

The Control tower, on the top of the Base buildings

Loading of a jeep in a Space Cruiser... "Ehi!...Warning to the the antenna!"

women's talks...

The armory...

The fuel pipe from the tanks to the launch tower

The DELTA is in launch position

The 2 big tank for the fuel and water storage

They used one shuttle fuel tank to create the Base's fuel storage, in the space the weight optimization is the main issue

The DELTA items: the spacecraft, one man crew and two engines (jet) suitable for the Titan atmosphere (the next step will be the building of the Titan Base)

The main rocket (liquid fuel)

The spacecraft

We have to postpone the DELTA launch to tomorrow... in order to implement the modifications suggested by Pantera

The DELTA system used to carry out the Space Shuttle...

The DELTA system is launch position

"DELTA? Green light to launch... See you..."

"Thank you Control... See you"

Base overview from the top of the crane

Awesome classic space base. My brothers and sisters and I used to build bases like this. 5 points for nostalgia.

Is there such a thing as Classic Space Envy? I love the mix of old and new, it reminds me of Moonraker.

Quoting Brody Allen Great evolution of Alpha base. Superb technique of combining classic space and modern. You capture the retro feel while having a new look. Well done!
Thank you Allen

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera Awesome! I love anything classic space. I wish I had that schuttle, I do think it looks a bit out of place in this build though.
I evaluated if modify the Shuttle before integrate it in this scenario and I created the DELTA rocket (it has the possibility to be fixed to the Shuttle) but I think that a Shuttle could leave the Earth orbit and proceed to Moon (and the space for the crew is bigger that in the Apollo module) and landing on it to bring the material for a theoretic permanent installation. To leave the Moon the only solution should be by its rockets (the ones inside the Shuttle body and the other two lateral) with a small structure to mantain the craft in vertical position (the time for the Moon launch should be lower that the time necessary for the Earth launch - less gravity)... But thank you for your opinion.
