Going Boldly...
From the Vintage 2012 Collection.
About this creation
This is the second installment in a three-part project featuring the three primary characters from the classic television show, Star Trek.

The mosaic measures 30"x40" and will debut at Phoenix Comicon 2012 on Memorial Day weekend. William Shatner is scheduled to attend ...and hopefully sign this piece.

Brilliant, I couldn't do this with paint, let alone LEGO. Great work!

Though I'm not much into mosaics, I like your Star Trek ones. Using bright background colours was a clever decision.

This is great bud. I hope you can market these pieces of art for yourself. Get the whole star trek team and your set. Great job again keep it up.

The best part of this has to be the one white stud for the eye. The way his left side of the face falls into shadow is artistically brilliant. Contrasted on the red with the yellow uniform really sets out the outline. Keep it up Dave, your creations are quite enjoyable!

Quoting Flare . Very nice, Dave. Really impressive work. So who's last? McCoy?
Yes! I can't wait to get started on it.
Quoting Mark Kelso Dude, I'm telling you...these could be in a fine art gallery. Have a look at this artist:http://www.sebastiankruger.com/index.php There are some similarities between what he does, and what you're doing here with iconic personalities. Meanwhile, great work, Dave!
Mark, thank you for the words bro! His stuff is amazing.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Absolutely fantastic piece of brick art. I am not sure what brick paper is but I guess. Good luck at the show.
Brick paper is a type of graph paper with a rectangular grid pattern with the identical dimensions of a 1x2 plate. Standard graph paper is another great tool also.

Quoting Nate B. Nice! well you said we could ask so: do you use brick paper at all?
Great question! The answer is yes. I use any/every tool available to me. This time, however, I actually painted the image onto the backing first, then connected the bricks. It was a very different approach, but the build time was incredibly fast. Thanks for asking!
