The Maelstrom Attack!
Whew! That took a long time to upload! Aright then everyone! (Drumroll) This... is...THE MAELSTROM! This is my custom pirate vessel, co-captianed by Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa. First mate: Joshamee Gibbs. I entered this into a LEGO building competition, however, I didn't win because the judges thought is was a set! (actually, I took that as a compliment!) Ah well. It is on 2 blue base plates, and in one corner is a castaway on a little spit of rock, still guarding his treasure. Well, ENJOY !!!
About this creation

Firstly, the bow.

I love this shot! It looks so impressive! There's also the skeleton masthead.

Two triple guns underneath, along with another 3 guns on the front! You wouldn't want to be chased by this ship!

Side shot, with the startled crew members rushing to fend off the soldiers. You can see the cannons along the side as well.

Yarr! An attack of British soldiers, led by the Admiral. Get 'em Barbossa!

"Have an apple!" This is probably my favourite minifig from POTC, as well as my favourite character!

A shot of the helm.

The crow's nest. Doesn't seem like he's a good lookout, seeing as the soldiers attacked so suddenly!

"I hate that monkey!"

Crew member rushing down from observation deck.

"For the king!" The British rowboat.

I really LOVE how the stern turned out. Pretty sweet axes no? There are also 2 windows which lead to the cabin. Underneath the observation deck, you can see a set of triple guns to fend off pursuers.

Stairs leading up to the second deck, along with my custom Will Turner. You can kinda see how I made the cannnons, using 2 1x1 cylinders, 2 1x1 brick with stud on one side and square hole on the other, and a 1x2 tile. I will post a page showing exactly how I did it, but if you can figure it out through this, well done, but remember to give credit to me where credit is due.
Second deck, along with random crew member at the helm. There are also 2 ladders leading up to the observation deck, and a back viewing deck.
Side shot of the battle. Go Jack!
The second deck lifts off to reveal Jack's cabin, complete with rum, a lamp, sextant, compass, charts, about all a pirate captian needs as far as I can see.
Treasure!

Wait! That's not all the treasure! The desk lifts up to reveal a hidden hold of chests of precious jewels and gold! Shiny!
Another shot of the cabin, nothing special here.

Some bedding rolls for the crew, along with the windows.

How I did the waves, I think they turned out awesome! There's also some seaweed drifting by.

Artistic shot. The crow's nest also has a working winch, on which a barrel (most likely full of rum) is hanging from.

"Man overboard!" Wait, he dived in to save the chest of treasure which fell overboard.
A massively big anchor, which can only be lowered by the giant.

Poor castaway, he's still guarding his only possession: A chest full of gold!

He might have been rescued if the crew hadn't been distracted by the attacking soldiers. Oh well.

Baseplates without the ship. You can fully see the awesomeness of the waves too.

British rowboat.

Yet another full shot.

Now for the figs: From left to right, two soldiers, the Admiral, and another soldier.
Jack, Gibbs, Barbossa, and Will.

Random crew members

Two more random crew members, and the tamed cannibal giant, who befriended Jack, after Jack rescued him from being hanged by the soldiers in Port Royal.

The drunk dude who has the bottle of rum (my favourite crew member), castaway, assembled skeleton bones, WHAT? How is that dude swimming in land?!?!

I took pictures of every single minifig and animal, so when I entered the ship on display for the contest, I wanted all my minifigs that I started with, to all come back from the contest.

"Squawk!" "We need a sail!"

Wow! That was a lot of typing!
I hope you all liked that, keep on the lookout for the cannon technique!
That's about all, thanks everyone for viewing, remember to rate and comment!

I'm more a fan of classic yellow minifigs, but these are very good parts for fleshies! Excellent crew!
