This LEGO model was first posted on this website January 7, 2004... a
fitting date, since I basically built this out of Christmas presents.
Two of the LEGO sets I got for Christmas were the sand-green LEGO
"sculpture" of Yoda, and Jango Fett's Slave 1 from Episode 2, which also
included sand-green pieces. So dragging out a few other LEGO boxes, I
set to work building this, right under the Christmas tree.

In fact, since I started it on a whim and had plenty of time on my
hands, I decided to try to build the whole thing in one sitting and time
myself. So I can safely say that the construction of this particular
creation took almost exactly three hours, from start to finish - though
I did make a few minor modifications afterwards.

The Scorpion is an awesome vehicle. Not only does it look way cooler
than most regular tanks with its sleek design and quad tread pods, but
it also has an awesome name. I mean, Scorpion? Wow. Unbeatable.

Somehow Halo manages to make every vehicle fun. In many games, jumping
in something as large and slow-moving as a tank is a downright painful
ordeal that involves dragging your way through cramped environments
while being shot at from all sides, nearly helpless. The Scorpion,
however, is pretty darn agile, and the environments in Halo are actually
big enough to have fun driving around in.
