Here is the most recent area in Kalm City project, the harbour. It was a group MOC and it marks the ending of the dark ages for my friend Tiago (at Enabling Motion). The MOC might yet undergo some changes, the future will tell. A nice video with crazy effects will come soon.
About this creation
The harbour features a tall lighthouse / watch tower, piers, a crane and the harbourmaster’s office with a warehouse underneath (this one was made by Tiago, I helped a very little bit).

01

A view from the sea. The tall lighthouse guides sailors. It is kept lit all night long.

02

A view from the city. Passengers can arrange travels in the harbourmaster’s office, for a price.

03

A ship docked. The (fully functional) crane can be used to load and unload goods from ships to land.

04

The lighthouse. If I had more of that color available I would have built it taller. From the bottom floor there is a staircase. Not playable, so no interior shots… :(

05

The harbourmaster’s office. It started out as just the front after a beer or two and ended up as my friend Tiago’s official Lego comeback. It turns out making videos isn’t the only thing he does with talent.

06

Fully playable. Here are the interiors… :)

07

There is lots of space to make it more «finished», with more furniture and objects. Still working on it.

08

I thought I’d try putting some buildings nearby to analyze the landscape effect, for when the city is complete (will it ever?).

09

Smoothing the transition water/sand/grass is going to be a challenge. I’m starting to get loads of green lego baseplates for Kalm City.

10

I guess this harbour might «harbour» some nice mini stories in the future.

11

The piers were made considering the size of the Black Pearl, but they can hold more than one ship at the same time if they’re smaller.

12

That roof still needs some work. It will be changed.

13

The far side of the piers is used to anchor rowboats.

14

A busy day at the docks.

15

I can’t wait to see it integrated with all the other buildings.

16

Thank you for watching, hope you like it :)

To comment last but not least !! Excellent addition to your Calm City, as I always say `lego for legos sake, exciting !` Lucky lego men. And the back-drops and grounds always make your lego look so clean and well finished, first class presentation !>.....well done, keep up the good work Pedro, you are one of the Moc`s finest enthusiasts.....

Very picturesque! I especially love this shot http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=320908&id=/user_images/75188/1335560153m The sky and activity in the distance add a lot. Great work!

Cool build. The house with the roof, which you can open is pretty cool. Did you try to put brown/dark brown tiles on the roof? "I’m starting to get loads of green lego baseplates for Kalm City." - On Lego baseplates and some landscaping it will look much better than now! But you'll need a lot, for your huge city...

Quoting Grant Brenton This is quite good. I am impressed by how clean and organized your building look. Also that lighthouse is a big landmark. Very cool. The working crane adds a level of playability to it that is quite nice as well. If I had to suggest something it might be that maybe you could use some landscaping, such as some plant action at the base of the tower and maybe some palms or something for the rest. Just a thought but it might create a slightly better atmosphere for the set. At any rate this is a very cool build. It will be interesting to see this city when completed.
Thank you for the wonderful comment! The vegetation is indeed crucial to set the right atmosphere, I've got some ideas already, but I guess I'm going to have to make my first ever lego parts online order to cover the whole city (I use dismantled sets, which don't include enough plants and foliage).

That's a great idea Büürli, thx! I'm going to try that as soon as I finish answering the comments. You're right about baseplates, I stocked out a pile of them from Toys R' Us recently, I'm waiting for more now. Cheers!

Quoting claw paradox good job! i like the rocks on the bottom of the tower, but i would suggest building ships from scratch.
Thanks! Those rocks were fun to make, though professor Eggy Pop would have a thing or two to say... About the boats, it one of those categories I never tried. I just might though.
