Here is my Rebel Assault Frigate Mark 1, it is based on the version seen in the Star Wars Starships of the Galaxy book and the SW; Force Unleashed 2 video game. I did intend to make along with it the more common version seen in comic books and various Star Wars Strategy games, but instead I decided to focus on one version and complete the second some time in the future.

Back Story

During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance in need of capital ships managed to secure a number of Dreadnought Cruisers for their fleet. However the Dreadnought suffered from two major flaws that made them impossible for the Alliance to make use of; it's out-dated engines that limited it's speed, and it's requirement of a crew of 16,000 to operate it.
Yet the Rebellion was desperate for warships, and so rebel engineers began equipping the ship with automated circuitry and droid terminals that greatly reduced the crew requirement from 16,000 to 5000. The engines were stripped open and thoroughly upgraded, giving them far greater speed and manoeuvrability for combat.
These modifications saw a great change however to the Dreadnought's appearance with much of its internal structures exposed and the addition of two rear dorsal fins to add to it's manoeuvrability, while still retaining its original armament.
These ships that soon became known as Assault Frigates were equipped with extra fire-power that out-gunned the old Dreadnought cruiser, yet the demand on it's reactor did limit their range and fire rate.
Although these refits were expensive and time consuming, the Assault Frigate proved to be a very effective warship. So much so that even the Empire made efforts to acquire them, which was a rather ironic reversal of fortune.

Good,But I don't see an Assauls Frigate here; This looks more like the engine stacks from an Assault Frigate welded onto the back of a Nebulon-B Mk.2 you should do more research. EDIT: i now see where you got this configuration. Apparently, there's more than one version of what the Assault Frigate looked like.

Quoting El Barto ! Wicked ship, Dude! But you should load the pics in Large mode.
Thanks for the comment, I'll try and get the size sorted tomorrow, though this seems to happen even when I do upload them large. Anyway I've posted a new link at the top to my gallery at Flickr where the larger images can be viewed.
