The F-39 is the State's top of the line air superiority fighter. Its 2 pulse detonation scramjet engines are capable of boosting it to speeds of up to mach 3.2+. Pilots of the talon are required to stay conscious in maneuvers up to 13gs. This high intensity training allows its pilots to pull off more difficult maneuvers at much higher speeds.
The cockpit uses a special type of glass that when an electric current is run through it turns it completely black and the pilot uses this mode during combat and flies using a similar system to ECS to allow the pilot to see out but others to not see in onto the blackened glass. All weapons are mounted inside the aircraft to give it the most stealthy profile possible. The F-39 has a space combat variant designated the XF-39
Armament:

- 4 Centaur air-to-air missiles

Well, that too. A pure interceptor should do bettter than a fighter bomber, and a fighter that can go both in air and space will not be the best in either enviroment.
