It was another boring day when Lucy decided to take her Caterpillar for a walk (50 piece contest MOC-Off entry)
My entrant to the 50 piece contest. The criteria was: 50 pieces exactly; use a minifig leg, chain or techic 2 brick connector; and the topic was to complete this sentence 'It was another boring day when ...'. I took the minifig leg use as far as I could; I also thought Lucy needed to get out of the house and stretch her legs.

Haha that's brilliant! I'd love to see what this caterpillar looks like once it's metamorphosed.

Well, I've come to expect top parts usage and a sense of fun in your builds, and this doesn't disappoint - even better for the fact you had a 50 part limit. Outstanding :)

Thanks for this and all the other comments. In answer to your question, I think I just hate building the same thing over and over again.

Quoting StoveTop Creator They both look happy now that they are out and about! :)
My daughter really wanted me to make something friendly for a change. BTW, I showed her some of your pieces, and she thought they were great; "much better than Daddy's".

Quoting Tim C Nice entry, David. That sure is a lot of minifig legs. At first I thought it was a Chinese parade dragon, but I love the thought that went into this one and your adherence to the oversized animals theme that has kind of become the David Alexander Smith signature theme. Did you break out one of your daughter's minifigs for this one?
Yes, it does look like a Chinese Dragon (log that idea for a future MOC). The only non-vintage part is Lucy's head, which you correctly surmised I borrowed from my daughter. I have quite a few parts of mini-figs, just not that many whole figures. These legs came from some classic knights I think, but I could be wrong.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Very funny and well built as usual. Great use of minifig legs. I am surprised you have any minifigs left - they keep getting eaten ;). Good luck
I have the legs left, just no heads or torsos - even dinosaurs are picky eaters.
