Bobby Robin
Meet Bobby the Robin Red Breast, the fourth in my British Birds Series.
About this creation
Robins are my favourite bird and a very good friend of mine. I am a gardener and tree surgeon so I'm lucky to have frequent visits from these friendly little fellas, especially when I'm digging. I love their song and the way they land on my garden tools. One actually landed on my foot recently. They are the friendliest bird around and are rewarded for it by me with plenty of worms :-)

Again I used Nick & Tyler L's great leg and foot technique;
Black Capped Chickadee

Bobby is quite a fat Robin after all the worms I've been feeding him.

Because Bobby is so fat he has difficulties balancing lol

Yesterday I removed a dead limb from an Apple Tree and thought this log would be a nice prop for Bobby :-)

I built a spade handle for Bobby as this seems to be one of their favourite perches.

Finally a shot of him with the closest thing I could find to a worm (I know it looks a bit radioactive lol). Look at all that mud on his beak.

This is definately one of my favourite British Bird builds yet.

I hope to take these birds on a field trip soon to get some outdoor photos. That's if we get a sunny day soon, these photos are quite gloomy because of the wet weather we're having.

What do you think of him?

Update:

Please support me to help these birds spread their wings, there is a chance these could be available to purchase as official LEGO sets if I get 10,000 supporters, follow the link and click support.

Quoting Frank van Es The robins that come in our garden are pretty shy , never had the chance to take a picture, the smallest of movements and they're gone (the woodpecker too). Now I can....build one ;) thanks very mutch for your wonderfullv creations and I'm looking forward to your next mocs
Thanks Frank! I have heard that Robins are more timid elsewhere. For some reason they seem to be rather tame here in England. I'm affraid I've beaten you to the building of a Woodpecker, I will be posting him shortly. Feel free to build your own, I'd love to see what you can do :-)

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Nicely done! How long would one of these take you to build? You're certainly pumping them out!
Hey Luke! Thanks. They take 2-3 hours to build, I actually built this Robin first a couple of weeks ago and it just snow balled from there, they are great fun to build and highly addictive. There are 2 more to come and I have more in the pipeline.

Quoting Nick Pascale I finally had to comment - you are becoming a close second to the new work Sean Kenney is doing and a close second to Audubon. I love birds and you are capturing their spirit in Lego! Keep up the good work can you do a dove?
Thanks Nick your comments are always appreciated! I may build a dove but it's not quite colourful enough for me, I have a massive list of birds to get through after this British series is over, I shall add the dove to the list :-)
