About this creation
This is my attempt at the Pantsir S1 Anti-Aircraft gun/missile system on a tracked vehicle, also known as the SA-22 Greyhound. I think i did really well aside from taking a few liberties here and there. It is built entirely from on-the-fly ideas after watching photos of the real ones, but i did take inspiration from several other builders on MOCpages who excel in building tracked vehicles.
Oh, and in case you were wondering... No i don't play battlefield :-)

Near the bottom of the page updated photos has been added.

Front. With both regular and infrared headlights. Or the red lights could be SHTORAs! It might be mentioned what they are in the sales video but i don't speak russian :-(

Left Side. Six axles! Missile countermeasures can be seen too.

Right side. The radio is the external direct com-system used to contact the crew.

Rear.

The turret. The system is armed with up to 12 two-stage medium range missiles and 2 dual-barreled (that's four barrels total) 30 mm autocannons. The autocannons can engage ground and air targets. They fire in tandem and have a combined rate of fire of 5000(!) rounds per minute.

Rear access hatch, engine exhaust, tools & what not. A mount for external fuel pods can be seen too.

Back of the turret.

Bottom.

How i did the tracks. I don't know if this is how other tank builders make their tracks but it is what i came up with using the trial-and-error method.

Our crew entering the vehicle.

An overview of the interior. On the left side of the vehicle is the corridor for accessing the driver's section.

The driver's section. The driver also has a small simplified control panel for the weapon systems. If needed, all tasks can be handled by one person.
To the right is one of the tool storage compartments.

Weapons control. The various radar systems have a range of up to 36 km and can also pick up stealth aircrafts. Up to four targets can be engaged simultaneously.
To the left is the other tool storage compartment, also containing spare tracks.

In operation! Beware!

The turret can rotate 360 degrees. You have to be a bit careful with the missile tubes though!

Below is a series of photos featuring the latest updates. Work has been done to the turret base, the tracks and the front. In the process of remaking the tracks i have also lowered the chassis some.

These 2 photos are of the very first version. It's come a long way since then!

And here is a composite shot with a few photos of the real SA-22. Below is also a sales video in Russian from the developers, the Instrument Design Bureau (Interesting name!) in Tula. Unfortunately there are no subtitles but in the end of the video contact information is shown in english. From what i read on wiki, they're about $15 million each if you can figure things out with your local authorities!

And finally, a fun photo from the first posting: "Don't you dare touch my desert-camo bin!"

Quoting Achintya Prasad How I haven't commented on this, I know not, but I shall correct it! Great work; are there plans for motorized version ;-) ?
Thanks! :-) Well i have never used motors before, so i have no plans to motorize it unfortunately. But it is a bit different now compared to when i posted it. The gun barrels now have the right length and no support under them, the downside to that is that now the barrels move in pairs of two which they are not supposed to :-/ If you have good eyes, you can spot the changes on the 'Ninja Challenge, Race Part 2' build :-)

It's Really Great... I Really Like The twin autocannons.. it's beautiful and powerful... if you add one more on each side, it will be like a m16 motor gun carriage.. :-D with more dakka and more damage... :-D Oh yeah, i left another comment on my Dingo... Check it out... :-) Thank you... :-)

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 mmmm, you ve been productive since my last visit, I like military stuff a lot too, impossible vehicles a la gerry anderson [thunderbirds], this is beautiful! interior, realism, tan, cool piece, I would have liked you d do scale-size comparison pics, since you can afford it, [you have fig scale trucks] that would have impressed more, + a few green baseplates to put it in contex, pure candy, next time?
Thanks for your comment, and your suggestion :-) Yeah i suddenly found a few new things to build :-D Well your suggestion of a comparison shot with other vehicles and a background has given me an idea. So maybe an update or a new post will turn up soon!

Quoting sam shindig oh its in the right place sorry im used to the 9k22 versions that has it in the middle sorry but it is very cool and thanks for telling me where to get treads.
That's ok, and thanks :-) If i remember correctly the 9k22 used a different chassis and both models look very much alike at a quick glance. And you're welcome about the treads, i know how finding them isn't easy.

Quoting sam shindig realy cool. although the turret could be placed a little farther back. its cool but does any one know where i can get lego tank treads please share?
Thanks :-) Well the turret is in the same position as it is on the original, but it does look different than other tanks with that placement. About the threads: The only way i know is to buy a couple of sets of the small technics-excavator (not the motorized one) and that should give you more than enough to build a quite big tracked vehicle.

Quoting Llew x Absolutely fabulous build!!! One of my favourite tanks on this site! The details are almost perfect! (as good as you can get using lego), The fix on the wheels made a big difference. Looking forward to seeing more builds from you! Excellent work!!! ,and thanks for leaving a comment on my BVS10 , haven't got many, much appreciated!
Thanks! I was very pleased with how it turned out after the last remake myself. And you're welcome! Your BVS10 would look really cool standing next to this one, so maybe i'll try building one too some day :-)

Quoting Charles Leahy Awesome tank design. You should try to make that one even larger. Thats about the only thing that could be different. Nice job.
Thanks! That would be cool but it stays this size for now :-) While it is the one detail-showpiece i really like in my army it's function is not as a primary weapon. And if i made it larger it would rival my heavy battle tank in size :-)

Quoting lone wolf great design, it looks very accurate. I'm not sure i understand what the big pipe things are, as i would think the are guns but it doesn't look like they are hollow. I would say bring the height down a little, but the interior is too good to get rid of. nice job
Thanks! But the height actually looks about right to me in the updated version :-) The pipes are closed missile tubes. They are sealed at the tip to keep out dirt, dust etc. There are a few demonstrations of the missiles (and the 30 mm guns!) in the sales video.

To all: I have been digging through my desert camo bin and looting a few builds, so now i have just scraped up enough sand-colored cogs to remove the yellow wheels on the build. the chassis has also been lowered and i am working on a better front end. Updated photos will turn up in a while! And once again, thank you very much for all your comments and thoughts - they help me improve my builds :-)

Quoting Michael Rutherford This is an outstanding build. The detail on the turret and the SRAD/LRAD array makes it instantly recognizable. The only real improvement I can recommend is that you replace the road wheels with a different color than yellow. Black, gray, or brown (Tan would be best, but I don't even know if that wheel is available in that color). Again, fantastic build. Attack!
Thank you very much :-) I am in the process of fine tuning it and it looks even more accurate now, though i had to use sand colored cogs for wheels to get the color right.

Quoting Lego Builders Looks like you have quite a collection of unusual colored bricks. Great work! I really like the color scheme. The only thing I have to say is that it looks a little boxy. Maybe if you widen the width of the vehicle it would look better? Just my opinion. :) -LB Senior
Thanks :-) I agree it looks boxy and at one point the tools in the compartments were mounted on the sides to give it some texture, but in the end i thought this version looked more right. My battle tank is only 2 studs wider so it has to stay at it's current width. I am now considering lowering the tracks to get a more accurate look though, so thank you for your opinion :-)

Quoting Jon Treasure AWESOME Allan! i love the undercarrage except the yellow wheels kinda stand out. next time i would probly use grey wheels or black. I like the shaping on the turret! 5/5
Thank you very much :-) I wanted to use black wheels at first but i didn't have enough. I tried with grey wheels but thought it was disruptive of the color scheme too, so i ended up with the yellow ones as a sort of 'mark' for my desert builds.
