U.S.S. Missouri 2
This is my second atempt at the Missouri. I scaled it down to just over 5' this time. I really enjoyed being able to complete this new one.
About this creation

From drawing to reality. I designed the turrets first and scaled everything based on them.

I got the sloped deck Idea from the creator of the massive H.M.S. HOOD.

A nice top veiw showing the crazy amount of smaller machine gun mounts, and antiaircraft turrets.

I wasn't able to make the turrets turn via remote control like I had designed in my larger scrapped version.

A closer shot of the superstructure tower.

I enjoyed designing this whole little part here.

A dockside view of the ship.

I see. I haven't started on my Iowa yet, so I really don't know, but this is kinda concerning me. I was planning on using 1x1 cylinder bricks, but if the width is too much.....

Quoting Achintya Prasad Hey, just wondering, but the main guns (the 16 inch) are those properly scaled? I'm planning on a 1/350 scale version of this ship, and I'd make them that size, or possibly even a stud wide.....
I believe they are. all of the drawings that I have found give the width of the turret around 36% of the width of the ship. In my case that is 9 bricks wide. The same drawings give a main gun width around 0.5 bricks wide. There is always a little room + or - with any scale, the end effect is what is important.

I love the sea of turrets on that ship. The most impressive is the bow, where you managed to make a a slanted deck on top of a SNOT hull. Great job!

That's an amazing Mighty Mo! The detail you put into that is great. Those are some creative methods to creating the various gun mounts too. I've seen her when pulling into Pearl many times but, never went for a tour. You mentioned about the sloped bow deck and the reason for that was to aid in water running off. There's a bit of trivia for you as well as the entire main deck is teak wood to help keep the inside of the ship cooler.

Nice! What scale is this one built in? I have plans for one in 1/350 scale, but it won't break 3 feet.....

That is AWESOME! Too bad Lego doesn't make any battleship kits. Of course I would be poorer if they did, because my 10yo son would want them all.

Wow. That is truly stunning. The Iowa class BBs have always been my favorite warships and this is a fantastic recreation of of them.

Excellent build. Very accurate. I love all the details that were included and those guns are fantastic. I like how you left the bottom off of the ship to give the illusion of floating in water. Great work!

Big MO! Awesome build, can't imagine the intricacies in there, with the double snot technique you've got going on. And all those guns and radar bits! Well done!
