Aircraft Carrier USS NIMITZ CVN-68 refit (miniscale)
This is a completly reworked version of my aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (inofficial carrier #4).
About this creation
So why did i made this refit? Good question. By uploading the former version i thought that this carrier seem to be completed. But then i noticed that there are a few serious issues like the position of the elevators #1 and #2 (front, right side). Besides that, the proportions of the thin front section hull/flight deck do not match the original ones.

So the main changes from #4 to #5 are
- position elevator #1 & #2 fixed
- shape of the elevators now similar to the real ones
- decreased lengt of the island
- reworked main antenna tower
- reworked flight deck and hull in the front part
- a couple of minor stuff

I documented the fixed stuff with some pictures.

Here comes the a little bit modified airwing...

Sorry here comes it.

Now that this version is uploaded, i provide the version #4 as LDD-File.
If u want to use this as a basic for an own carrier you can do it, but always keep in mind, gentlemen (and women) give credits. ;)

Pls rate and comment if u like it.

Quoting rick baker oh one more idea you might want to make it one more peg wider to get the right scale and to let you know i used to live on a nimitz class carrier so if you have any questions i will try to help you as best as i can
Thx for the comments. The carrier is actual build with a 6 studs weidt hull. I already thought about to increase that to 7 studs. But i think the ship itself is correctly scaled but the planes maybe to big. Thats LEGO. :) On which carrier did u have served? Have u seen my Midway?

that is an awesome update the landing area at the back needs to be slid over a bit more though just a little constructive criticism

That's a great little model. It's extremely detailed, especially for the small scale. Great job! :-))

This is something my brother and I always wanted to build! Yours is awesome! Some of the planes look a bit wide, but there is really nothing you could do. Keep up the good work! -LB Senior

Great work! I was considering trying something like this but I don't think I'll bother now after I've seen yours ;-) It's very detailed for the size. I love all those teeny weeny aircraft. I would suggest to edit out some of the photos, it seemed to take an age to get down here to comment and some people may get bored and not come down here to comment. I sometimes find it hard to choose which photos to post when I upload a MOC but I find less is more in this instance. I really like this, definately 5/5!

Quoting P. Voranc Fine improvements! I doubt that it can get any better in a scale like this. Go on and build the whole task group (or just a part of it).
Oh yes. :) In LDD i have more than "just" one US-carrier group. I got several different ships of several nations, but if i had enough parts or the money for that.... :D Just thought about the last days to introduce some as LDD-mocs but i would prefer real ones.
