G'day Lego bretheren! Been reading up on the early days of the automobile. Fascinating stuff. Did you know that there were 3 competing technologies: internal combustion, steam and electric? Anyway, I wanted to capture that pioneering spirit of the early 1900s in a minifig scale design. Richard Brown recently did a fantastic Model T recently, however my creation is a bit of a blend somewhat of a Ford and a Benz 'Velo'. Hope you guys like it.

Note the different wheel diameters of the Velo, a throwback to the horse and carriage.

Also note my clean and uncluttered desk....Those things in the background are some of my Dark Ages wood sculptures. They're very Lego-like (in that they're additive sculptres, assembled from pieces, not subtractional or carvings. Seems Lego was in my blood the whole time.

Here's our driver. Crank it baby!

Sorry about his clothes - I don't have many old fashioned accesories.

Ok, that's a little TOO old fashioned!

ALRIGHT, I get the picture! Sheesh.

This is more than mere whimsy; apparantly some old cars carried their passengers up front, with the driver having to peer around them.

Clean and organised-that's me! In the foreground: abandoned CS Moon rover contest idea. Abandoned after I saw the standard of the other entries!

   Mmmm topless....

Coolness! I know the original designs you are drawing your inspiration from & this isn't bad at all. A couple of different colours would be nice (especially yellow) & that guy needs goggles ;) Great stuff
