Working Red Dot Sight
For life size LEGO guns: a working red dot sight using a red light brick! LDD instructions available!
About this creation

^ In the picture above, the light brick is turned on!

This LEGO red dot sight works best in sunlight or bright light. Move it into darker areas and the dot is not as good. This version is made for attaching to rails on guns that are two studs wide or three studs wide. Also, there's a possibility of me making a modern submachine gun to go with it... :)

LDD file to make your own LEGO red dot sight is below. Two things to note: 1. the flex tube will be cut to about the length of the side of a 1x1 brick and will slide into the gray technic pin (to make the red dot small) and 2. the window frame piece in the LDD file is too small for the needed glass piece. The correct size of the window frame piece is 1x4x5, NOT 1x4x4.

Nice Idea! I'd love to see a submachine gun to go with it! Maybe a MP5? Have you ever built a modern weapon?

i have only 3 little 4x2x2 lego windows. It's very old(about 10 years) and they full of scratches, i used a piece of new plastic. it works perfect and reliably.

Interesting! And it works like its real counterpart? Brilliant idea to use the total reflection of the window.

This is awesome. I never thought of using those light up bricks for that. I'm gonna try that, I know I have one of them somewhere...

Nice, it's very unique. I have never seen anyone build one of these before out of Lego.
