B760-BP (Pimm Industries Battle Platform)
Tracked battle platform (command center).
About this creation
The Pimm Industries B760-BP is the largest vehicle in the fleet coming in at 181,500kg (200 tons). The troops that man this vehicle affectionately call it the elephant.

Designed as a mobile command post it houses multiple computer systems to assist in battlefield analysis. In addition, it employs the latest in radar, electromagnetic, satellite, and infrared imaging.

Despite the eight turbines (housed within the track assemblies) it is not a quick machine – with a top speed of 40km/h. However, when it is moving inertia allows it to plow through anything it might encounter. Due to its great mass it is not recommended to drive the vehicle through swamp-like terrain.

This is the first vehicle to utilize the newly developed Particle Projection Cannon (PPC). This ion cannon fires a stream of charged plasma at its target, which damages both the armour of the target and the electrical systems. The blast from the device is strong enough to knock a 50 ton vehicle onto its side. The downside of this weapon is the extreme heat it generates, the slow recharge time, and that it requires so much energy that the B760-BP cannot move and fire its main gun at the same time.

Specification:
Weight: 181,500kg (200 tons)
Engine: 8X Turbine powered by fuel cell technology
Crew: 5 (3)
Main Weapon:
Pimm Industries PPC
Secondary Weapons:
1) .75cal anti-personal machine guns X2 (mounted to rear tread assemblies)
2) 4 round, short range missiles (front mount)
3) 2X, Double barrel, 20mm cannon (front mount)
4) 2X, Triple barrel, 50mm auto-cannons, (top, rear mount)
Armour: Undisclosed. Laminate design with experimental energy
absorption properties. Heavy-weight.
Classification: Extreme-heavy, quad-tracked, ground, battle platform. Troop transport. Secondary vehicle transport. VTOL landing platform/transport.

Although the vehicle ideally requires five crew members; it can be effectively run by three. The computer systems and artificial intelligence allow for the operation of the weapons with minimal human supervision.

In addition to its roll as a command center, it can carry 15-troops comfortably, plus has room for 6-officers to discuss tactics. The B760-BP has these 15-troops assigned to it at all times.

The rear area of the B760-BP is meant to hold a small armoured vehicle (still pending creation) that can act as a scout and emergency escape vehicle. There is also a landing pad on the rear of the vehicle that will allow for a small vtol (also still pending creation) to be transported.

This vehicle was a bugger to build. It took 4-hours just to come up with the design for the treads. The whole reason for building this was because I liked the treads and had to think of a design for them.

The PPC design took the better part of an evening and I had ten different versions built before I decided on this one. The rear autocannon design also made it to version 5 before I chose the one pictured.

It is very heavy, and I have no idea how many pieces were used (a lot). This creation also severely tapped my black tile and plate collection.

And because of those that asked to see the interior of the APC (not possible without destroy the vehicle), I chose to make the top of this removable. I think I will incorporate this element into the rest of the vehicles in this ‘line’.

Side note: the battle between my kid’s armies and my own is on hold for the moment. The landscape we built was subjected to an unfortunate Nintendo Wii accident and will require some reconstruction.

Shameless plug for a great seller):
I would like to thank BattleGuard from EricksonBrick for the many great parts I collected for this vehicle.

Great work I know 80 likes is alot but it's sad to think that awsome stuff like this only gets 80 likes when other people just scrible on a clone with sharpie and get 180 likes. keep up the good work.

Quoting Justin BG why does this remind me of a halo elephant?
Not sure, but I have heard that before; however, given I posted this 3-months before Halo 3 came out, it would seem highly unlikely that it was inspired by the halo elephant. That, and I don't see any similarities.

Frak! As a 40k Tread-Head, this build simply floors me. The scale is huge, just how I like futuristic MOC's. I just love the idea of gargantuan machines of war, and this is certainly up there. Very nice build.

Very, Very cool. It reminds me of the German Ratte "land cruiser" concept, and also of a BOLO robotic tank. I like the paint scheme, very classy, but hey I'm a sucker for armor.

wow...resembles an artist's concept drawing for a german designed armoured vehicle... they didn't even call it a tank it was reffered to as a "landkreuzer" (land cruiser) ironically named "Ratte" (rat). it featured two 280 mm cannon, one 128 mm cannon, and a bunch of AA guns. it was 35 m long, 14m wide and 11m tall...not exactly befittig the name of a small rodent...lol

Well, as usual, a great MOC! I love the heavy boxy feel of this thing - that look doesn't usually work well, but it's perfect for this monster. The collection you've got going is looking pretty nice, too. Sorry I didn't catch this one when it first came out. Looks great!

A very 'warhammer-ish' utalitarian design. awsome SNOT costruction and very functional with the well positioned weapons and good ratio of firepower to vehicle size. Really great creation. =)

Man, that thing is pure awesome. I can imagine it rolling over the battlefield, impervious to all enemy fire, its cannons laying waste to everything its path. Seriously, it looks like it could take a few NUKES and keep on rolling. Although it appears to be manned by clones. ;) BTW, that Bricklink link doesn't seem to work.

This is excellent. The only thing I would have changed is the placement of the main gun. It just seems awkward to me to have a tank's main gun on the FRONT half of the vehicle...

holy smokes that things big. it reminds me of my SCARAB, which I never finished and has gone to the great recycle bin in the sky. black is a great color to build with (it makes things look so wicked!) but it is so hard to see detail in photographs. Anyhoo, it rocks. the only thing that I'm not completely sold on is the main gun. not sure why, it just seems awkward. minor.
