For those of you who know me on this site, I have been talking about retrieving my childhood Lego collection. It has made its way home today. Here are a few raw shots pre-sorting.

If only my mom had saved my childhood collection. I can just imagine how happy I would be to add all those older, rarer, peanut butter smelling (is it just me?) bricks to my collection. Oh the ideas that must be filling your head now. Good times. ~cheers
I'm working on a classic space micro scale cruiser; I couldn't resist all those classic space pieces. All going to plan I'll post it tomorrow. |

I love the idea of working from a limited pallete. I have a lot of bricks from my childhood mixed with all the bricks that my son has bought and I like the challenge of building things without buying more when things dont' look exactly like I won't them to.
By the way, I'm loving your creations. They're very unique. |

Happy homecoming, David! As soon as I saw this, I knew it had to be you. That's larger than I was expecting. I recognize those booklets. I had some of those as a kid. I also see that you took much better care of your LEGO pieces as a kid than I did. When I got out my childhood pieces, there were so many that were so damaged that I couldn't use them for anything. Enough with my own nostalgia. I see a lot of really interesting classic space pieces in your collection and can't wait to see what you do with them. |

You just went up about 1000 parts or so. No rating, since it isn't technically a MOC, but still, good loot.
I spent 2 and 1/2 hours sorting and barely scratched the surface. Not only are there so many pieces, they are all old pieces I loved. Our house smells of my childhood now. Understand regarding the rating - it seems weird to me that this has been liked more than some of my MOCs. |

Now I'm sorting it, I'm finding odd bricks of Tente, some Star Wars figures and other refugees from my childhood.
