The movie "Avatar" was kind of the inspiration behind this one. I named it "Avatar" because of it's blank face. That name just seems to suit it perfectly. Well, that and it's inspired by the movie "Avatar". Did you think I would call it Robo-cop or something?
Alright, let's say your body is overflowing with cancer or you end up in a devastating car crash and you only have a short amount to time to live. Would you rather die or have your mind transfered into a new body and continue with your life? With this kind of technology, you could essentially live forever!
Basically, Your subconscious mind is transferred into the robot and the robot's appearance changes to reflect the subconscious mind that has been loaded. All of your memories and personality characteristics remain intact but instead of being flesh and blood, Your aluminum and oil.
These robots can be upgraded in many ways including job specific upgrades like stronger servo motors in the arm and leg joints for heavy lifting jobs. Even fire-proof alloy for firefighters and integrated parachutes for pilots. And when the robot is beyond repair or outdated, your mind can once again be transfered to a brand new robot.
What do you think? pretty cool idea, huh? Well, I like it anyway! :)
Love the minimalist look, delicate greebling (that tubing over the torso mask is a huge NPU), and the limb balance is great. Kept true to a style that looked built by current or near-future scientists, specifically for the purpose indicated in your story. Essentially, it's structure is nicely Beleivable - pistons, solid, thin-limbed, compact. GREAT work! =)
Whoa... Wow this is.....'.....awesome nice job your idea of the living forever kinda makes sense the proportions are good plus the stance.... Wow. Also did you get the forever life thing from a special ondiscovery channel cause' I saw something like that.anyway awesome!
I had this done a couple years ago actually. I decided to go through with it once I realized sleep was a option I was doing without anyway and the upkeep on one of these was just overall a better idea... of course I've got this nasty burr in my rotator, but I'll get that fixed once I find the dinobots and get off this twisted planet (counts on one hand the number of people who get that joke and... moving on). Nice work Jason! ~ Chris.
Really cool figure, it's great to prove that you can build poseable humanoid figures without the aid of Bionicle or Hero Factory. Loving the greebling all round, and the use of the Toxic Reapa head in the torso is great!
BUT HOW WOULD YOU HAVE SECKS!?!? Lol. Anyway, this is a pretty cool Idea you've got. and some how, before I read the description,I knew this would have something to do with AVATAR....probebly because this looks like a very basic skeleton that can be easily modified (which you already said it could).Anyway, very nice idea!
Well, it's a little twisted of an idea. But I do like twisted. The build is beautiful. Not a lot of these robotic-type builds are able to retain a true humanoid look, but you have achieved that here. Always excited to see what you come up with. Can't wait for the next.
This is a great model! The colors are perfect, also. The chest and head have a lot of great bits to them, and the arms look good. The only thing I would change is the hips, as the seem a bit rushed. Otherwise, great! Keep on brickin'!
