In mid 2006, after much thought and planning I started separating the park into two halves so it could be transported to an exhibit pending an interested organization. This required dismantling the park in large sections so I could shift the building on the green base plates and build the stadium on two large pieces of wood. During the process of building this portable model I made a few more major design changes since I was basically restarting from scratch with large sections. This project was completed on November 23, 2006.
The new key features making Version 5 included:
Stadium assembled on two wood platforms for portability
Building enclosed in clear and dark blue transparent bricks
Outfield exterior wall heavily modified and non-motorized movable panels added
Wires installed for future outfield panel motors and sensors
Roof opening and closing controlled by touch sensors (LegoŽ Mindstorm timers caused problems as batteries died)
Wires for motors, sensors, and lights routed through hinge & basement level (Not seating)
Lockable Mindstorm access door added (Now I could change the Mindstorm batteries)
