8070 Super Jeep
I made this jeep using only Technic set 8070. My aim was to create an alternate or C model for the set. This Moc uses 95% of the parts from the set. This model features, Independent suspension to all 4 wheels. HOG steering Mechanically opening Doors Mechanically opening bonnet/hood Motorized V8 engine Working motorized 4 speed gearbox ratio: 1 = 1:5, 2 = 1:3, 3 = 3:5 4 = 1:1 ENJOY :) Check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhvtZmg5bcs
About this creation

Here I have swapped the tyres for bigger ones. It looks heaps better this way.

Here is a photo showing how it looks with the official tyres from the set 8070

Quoting Martin Janovec Very nice alternative. Is it possible to buy instructions? Thanks.
Sorry I don't have instructions. The model is still built so perhaps one day I will make some before I pull it apart :)

great model! the chassis looks very strong. its a shame that the steering isnt motorised otherwise you could have had an awesome rc car.

Very nice streamlined bodywork for a jeep. It has a style.

Quoting Halhi 141 Nice job. I actually prefer it with the original tires. I think that making a pure alternative is much more impressive than a slightly better looking alt with just a few extra parts. As it works without the large wheels, you should add this to the group "Alternate Designs of a Technic Set." It would make a great addition.
Thanks.. Well its no problem to use the original tyres 30 seconds to swap them ever :P So I will add it in the group :)

Quoting Bernhard Mollema I like the frontside alot, how do the doors open I only see 1 gear wheel at he back of the car? do you use also 1 motor for steering?
The 8070 set only has 1 motor.. so the steering is not motorised. The doors open by turning the small black toggles sticking out near the front of the sideskirts. There is a gear knob in the cab to open the hood.

Quoting Jonathan Petersen Fantastic Alternative! is it motorized drive or only the transmission? Great Job!
It is motorized drive, motorized transmission and motorized engine. It also uses a clutch gear in the gearbox on 1st and 2nd. It can drive on ground in 1st gear quite well. :)

Quoting George Staples This is a great alternate. I think the larger tires add a lot, but I think you should get some knoby tires to make it look better.
Yes I wanted some knoby tyres it was my thought too but I don't own the right ones in any of my other sets at the moment..
