Quay XI Class DSDB
Hello, and welcome to the Quay XI Class Deep Space Defence Battlecruiser! This particular one is The Variant Dawn, the flagship of our currently small fleet. A big thanks to JWG 258 for his Cachear MOC- It forms the basis of the main body. Also keep in mind this uses LDD physics- I very much doubt the survive-ability of those wings in real life. Other than that, the whole thing's fine. I also gave photo editing a try. Onward to the MOC!
About this creation

This thing is long. Not sure how many studs, but the whole thing contains 5310 pieces. Yay for brick counter!

The Quay XI is one of the largest ships a-Float?-Drift?-tumbling heroically through space at 573m in length (I hope this is inside the rules McCall, I'll change it if it is too big).

This ship has 24 broadside laser-howitzers (that's 12 a side), 18 medium gunpounders, 2 high power particle beam dual turrets and 6 magnetic coil dual turrets (which work along similar lines to a MAC gun, but these are on turrets) and countless anti-fighter guns which are too small to see on this MOC. The ship is also equipped with an experimental ESS system- a system that uses an electromagnetic field to repell smaller projectiles, such as light missiles and enemy point defense turret rounds.

Haha, the main hangar is revealed! You didn't think those things on the wings were hangars now, did ya? They hold unmanned defence drones, which add to the anti fighter capability and act as dummies. The ship holds 15 of those and 45 fighters, usually Baalhienn CEIU-24s, but it is currently home to 10 experiment YSB-246s instead of 10 of the aforementioned craft.

Once again a BIG thanks to JWG 258!

HOLY ****! my computer boggs down when I hit 3000 pieces. that is epic! I sense this cruiser when from JWG to you, and probably me next, and I already have some ideas. . . ;) muahahaha. (P.S. a few more images of the hagars and engines or downloadability would be nice.

You have no idea how painful this was to build. So. Much. Lag. It froze LDD like 20 times just adding the engine section.

Its nice to see the cachear partial build used for something great. I wonder how my "ressurection" ship would look if you customized it. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/121659 This moc has the resurrection in it. its the big one.

I can't find it on your page :P. Thanks so much for letting that be downloaded, it was instrumental in getting me working on this project. I wouldn't be done until the summer holidays without it!

Quoting Mihe Stonee not bad for LDD! And you're right - i also often think; would this work in real bricks...??? Any static-calculator for LDD would be fun! Did you made a frame with technic bricks ? => This is often an smore stabil solution...
I think the frame is technic, and I really should have attached those wings with technic, but I was much too lazy for that.

Excellent work. Definitely something I would consider nominating for a MOCie.

Quoting PALADIN . Mother of Spaceships, this thing is epic!!! Really, the detail and work put into this are unimaginable! This rivals some of the best ships on the 'Pages. Also, the ESS idea was actually mine >.>
Yeah, I remember that now. :P

Quoting Matthew McCall Best spaceship design in DAC! Awesome work! However, if you want it to be a big ship, it really should be called something like a battlecruiser to avoid confusion. (we all need to follow the same classification system in order to get the ship system to work)Also, the elctromegentic field is a really cool idea, but has a major flaw in that it can be completely negated by using projectiles made of material that isn't effected by the magnetic field. Anyway, excellent work!
Credit Tyro, I believe, for the ESS idea. And yes, it is meant to have flaws, it is only experimental. I'll rename it too. That alot for the input!
