Thanks a ton to MG and Strakk for commenting super fast the first time I posted this. No changes to the build, but hopefully I got the stretchy pics worked out.
About this creation
Well I'm strapped for time. This was never meant to be a revamp of pohatu, but I did build it with Pohatu in mind, actually. Color scheme, etc.
So now it's my last minute entry for bio cup eliminatories. The first round was a really bad time for me, because exams are just ending, plus I've been out so much lately that I've had little time for building. I thought about revamping a rahi from that book that came out a few years ago, suggested by chronos, but I couldn't find it. Eh.
What DID I build him for you ask? An epic giant (in toa size) toa team! Think cossy's toa lotem, but by me!
Well, here's the moc.
Here he is in all his awesomeness! I believe I stole the idea of the technic plating on the upper arms from Sam I Am. Go check him out, he's awesome!
It's VERY hard to build in either brown or tan, so that's why I started with it.
The back is a bit eh, I might change it. This utilizes my finalized epic torso design, if you guys want, I'll post a breakdown of it!
I'm pretty happy with the arms, because I got to fit in elbow spikes :D I love elbox spikes <3
I'm pretty happy with the legs too, I just wish I coulda fit in some of those nes joints from DC heroes that increase the friction, because this guy is so heavy his knees make it hard to pose!
Since Pohatu has the mask of speed, I thought an ENORMOUS ponytail would look really sweet and add to that look. It's not in most of the pics because it's so big, and doesn't fit in my small photo area :D
He has a staff, which basically uses up the rest of my tan :D
It's not all that great. But what is:
A giant @$$ machine gun! This makes it even harder to pose! It looks like it was tough to build, because I used a LOT of crazy angles and parts, but I built this fairly quickly!

Well, what a coincidence that you had a spare moc that looked just like pohatu! Really, it looks overall great. The only problem I have is that it seems a bit too bulky, with pieces jutting out, and the carapar armor adds very little. I'm excited to see what you'll make for round 2 |

Good. Build itself is nice, but kinda messy. however, the colors looks bad. I'm ok with the brown and tan, but that reddish brown and the carapar pieces really ruin the whole scheme, therefore, the general look of it. I can see you did better before. So, I'll go with 6/10 |

Pretty nice, those tan bricks are hard to work with ( I have one tan MOC, but it's not very big). And I too love elbow spikes :3
By the way, those DC knee joints also come in Black Phantom, in case ya didn't know ;) |

I agree with Legofreak, this is not your best, however I can understand with the parts shortage. I hope to see better later in the bio-cup, if u make it that is! Still, you did a pretty ok job with your parts constraint! |

I can tell you were on limited time and I can understand that. This isn't your best work, there doesn't seem to be a distinct flow about the MOC. You added greebly parts and smooth parts, a staff that looks like a big hand and a machine gun...I dunno, it's just not that appealing IMO. Sorry if I sound rude, I'm just a bit disappointed. |

Nice work on him, I like the use of the brown Onua Nuva mask! The designs on him are also very cool. But I also have to agree with Chro, he don't looks much like Pohatu. Still a great creation! |
