So this is whats causing the problem


So these are the things that the upper gear that is connected(the 1x4 and 2x4 and 3 1x2 with holes) to the steering knob it falls off allot which is no fun when your trying to drive

This is my problem the steering falls apart when your driving. can someone come up with a solution?

Withdraw the vertical axle slightly (so the bevel gear is right on the end of it) and use a longer horizontal axle that can then pass right under it and be braced at the rear end also.
I have fixed the problem! First off the axle that connected the gear to the rack was bent! so that made the steering very heavy and hard so I fixed that and tied the braces it to the main structure of the car and now it's fine! Thanks Everyone

One simple solution is to make the bottom horizontal axle go through to the other side of the console. Then add spacers as needed. Also bracing the console with some L arms like senator said will help.

They make special bricks for 90 degree turns like you've got. Or you can just use a large center console to brace the gears. Bricks don't work particularly well for bracing, though. You might also try adding some technic 'L' beams. Keep at it! And maybe change the trucks appearance a bit more? It looks very similar to your last post of it.
