Being the older brother of Vortus, Nui was appaled when he heard that he had been captured and transformed by Death. Nui quickly gathered up as many brave Toa as he could and ventured out to rescue his brother. Not long after leaving their home, they encountered a small army on their way to a nearby village. When Nui recognized his brother leading on the front lines, he blindly charged in. Like cowards, Nui's men fled from the scene, leaving Nui on his own to fight a few hundred undead soldiers. Vortus ordered his men to march ahead of him and attack his older brother, but Nui, using the ax that Vortus had crafted before he left, tore through wave after wave of lifeless men in order to reach his brother. Once within range, Vortus immediately took heavy fire upon Nui, forcing him to stop. Seeing no other option, Nui pushed through the pain and assaulted his brother. The two brothers' blades collided, but Nui's proved to be the stronger as he broke the blade and continued on to remove Vortus's arm. In one strong feat of rage, Vortus used the remainder of his strength, deployed his energy blade, and struck Nui's mask, shattering it completely. Death soon followed as he mysteriously appeared from behind and began the transformation process. It has been said that no other being has been as corrupted quite like Nui. His left army extended and morphed into a whip, his legs broke and reformed, and his face was left twisted and scarred. So scarred, in fact, that Nui did everything to cover his face as well as changing his name to Nui Manas, meaning Great Monster. He now fights alongside his brother, decimating any unfortunate soul in his path. Motto: "I don't need to see to kill, my ax will guide me to your neck."
About this creation
He's slightly less poseable than his brother, but he's bulkier.
Without any special support, his arm can hold the weight of the ax easily.
Here, you can clearly see how Manas uses his energy blade.
It also doubles as a sword.
His whip arm fully extended.
Even though the sides are masks, they are only a means of covering up the sides of his face.
His back is the most vulnerable and exposed point, much like his younger brother. There is also a peg for his ax to store.
His legs are very simple but sturdy.
I wanted to give him a really twisted form to show how corrupted he is, so I gave him double jointed legs.
The feet are really good for digging into carpet, but not so good on wood, tile, ect, as they tend to slide around.
Manas: "Death has placed a bounty on your head."
Manas: "And I plan on claiming it!"
Breakdown: "Let go!"
Manas: "As you wish..."
Manas: "It looks like I'm not finished here."
Breakdown: "No, please! Be merciful!"
Manas: "Very well, I shall grant you a quick death."
