About this creation
CODE NAME: F.A.E. (Fully Augmented Engine)
FUNCTION: combat and reconnaissance
FACTION: A.S.C. (Alliance of Satellite Colonies)
DESCRIPTION: Late in the 25th Century, a rift began to form between the core worlds of the Teran Solar System (Earth, Mars, Venus, Luna) and the outer colonies. This rift led to the formation of a officially recognised secondary political body called the Alliance of Satellite Colonies, which represented diplomatic, economic and military interests for these colonies both back on Earth and in the Human occupied space in general.

As the solar system experienced new threats both from within and without, terrorist groups, alien invasions, separatist movements and religious extremism, ASC were forced to arm themselves to protect their colonies and shipping lanes. The extremely versatile FAE were the first choice.

Designed by Tempest Technical based on Io, FAE units are shipped to various colonies and act as escorts and advance scouts. To enable them to operate both in space and on the ground, they come with support units that can fly in and attach, upgrading them to flight/fight capable variants.

They are named after "The Fae" which is an old Earth phrase for fairy or elf, which their designers took as inspiration for their light, delicate appearance, and their frequently split wing system.

Shown here are 3 variants in blue, purple, red, however colour schemes are down to the personal choice of the squad. Colouring usually is determined by the squad emblem colours, or those of the planet they represent. Blue for example is the national colour of the plutonian colonists.

Quoting Dave Kaleta Love the way you tied in mythology and the fairy idea into the 'wing' design. ~Dave
cheers dave, but it was more the other way round. The design (including the wings) were created more or less randomly, and then I imagined what it reminded me of and thought "fairies" it reminds me of the classic image of a fairy. I was unsure whether fairy class mecha would have enough punch to it as a concept for people to get behind I switched it to "fae" as that is a far more generic term and not likely to offend anyone.
