"Space is infinite, as are the possibilities. We need only find them."
About this creation
During mankind's Colonization Era, many seeds were sown and forgotten. The world of Ni Tirai (Nee Tee-Rye) is one such world.

The A-04 Destroyer class warship is the pride and joy of Ni Tirai's naval fleets. Agile, heavily armed ships for defense against the unknown of space. Ni Tirai'n technology relies heavily on magnetics, and the A-04 is no exception.

The A-04's drives are magnetically channeled fissal engines. Fuel is piped into a magnetic thrust chamber after being processed through a fission reactor, reducing it to a plasma.

For offensive power, the A-04's most powerful weapon is a massively powerful multi-stage magnetic accelerator cannon, which fires 50 kilogram alloy slugs that can devastate armor and cut through ships much bigger than the A-04.

The primary weapon, however, a tandem mass accelerator system consisting of a cannon under each wing. These cannons are powerful, but significantly less powerful than the MSMAC, and capable of firing much quicker.

In addition, there is a pair of smaller dual guass turrets mounted further back on the wing sections of the hull. Designed for dealing with smaller, more manueverable targets, these cannons can fire very quickly with low power consumption.

For defense, the A-04 mounts two magnetic accelerator generators located off the bow. These generators not only provide the necesary magnetics for the weapons, but also can generate magnetic barriers for slowing and deflecting incoming projectiles.

The use of the magnetics is also advantageous for cooling purposes, as heat follows the magnetic currents along to heat sinks located in each wing and on the flanges connect to the drives located on the wing sections of the hull.

Additionally, the special blade structures on the wingtips are advanced sensor and counter sensor arrays. Sophisticated sensors for navigation and for basic use. The tip of the bow is a special mass radar than can determine objects as small as a standard automobile. This, used in conjunction with advanced heat sensors, can easily identify other ships and structures reliably.

The armor is an ceramic-metallic carbide called storene ceramic Plating. Highly durable, but easily shattered under multiple impacts, this somewhat ablative armor excels at stopping projectiles. The plating on the A-04 consists of three layers, half a meter thick each layered with a thin layer of honeycomb lattice metal alloy armor, to maintain structural integrity.

The A-04 maintains a basic crew of 65 personnel, from the command crew to technicians and weapons specialists. Additionally, the A-04 carries 50 shipboard marines for security, boarding, and anti-boarding actions.

While the design of the A-04 is aerodynamic, it is not capable of flight in an atmosphere, nor is it capable of re-entry. These ships must be built in orbit, and parts can often be seen being hauled to the orbital shipyard.

The Ni Tirai'n Navy currently fields 15 A-04's, none of which are older than a year. The one featured here is designated the NizoHar.

CULTURAL NOTE:
In the native language, Ni Tirai means "Near Earth". NizoHar means "Nearest Life".
CREATOR'S NOTES:
So this one also started as a doodle, based around that wonderful slope in the center. It somewhat reminded me of the shape of the Normandy from Mass Effect, and this one is inspired by that ship. The story is mostly original to this particular ship. I may make more to do with Ni Tirai soon.
Some credit to Cody G, since I modified his design for the coilguns.

Wondeful looking ship. Great job on the edited pics, especially the main picture creates a pretty cool atmosphere. Really had a lot of fun reading the tech specs, you always put so much effort into that. ~Marc
Thanks! I really enjoy putting in the extra effort. It makes the time spent worth it! |

Cool concept. I like the spoilers over the engiens. The scale and shape is deceiving. |

Very interesting. This one was misleading for me. When I first saw it, I thought it was a good-looking one-man fighter, until I saw the trans-blue you were working with and knew that it was a micro. I really like the design for the ship, and building this style of ship and making it so that it had a crew rather than a pilot is a bold touch. The colors are great and they go well with the design. It kept me looking at it for a while and it's one of my favorite micros of its size. Well done.
For some reason, most of my ships come out very sleek. My Ballista fighter was something of a redesign from a micro destroyer for the ESC, as an example. |

Love your presentation dude, it really makes a difference in the looking at of a moc for me. The specs sheet is wicked, and so's that shot with the planet that seems to have a spec grid over it. Escapism all the way!
Thanks for the feedback. I really worked on the presentation, because I happen to really like this one. I wonder if it may eventually work its way into GAIA? |
