Foluce

Foluce was a small yet cunning Onu-Matoran who was a mechanic for the heavy machinery that was used in the archives of New Onu-Metru. He had an incredible aptitude for building and repairing machines, but he lacked the education to become an actual archivist. Instead, Foluce used his spare time to create small machines and gadgets for himself. However, his pay was not enough to fuel his hobby, and his sentimental nature prevented him from selling or scrapping his inventions. As a result, Foluce began to steal trinkets and lesser artifacts from the archives to help pay the bills. It came as no surprise then, that he was eventually caught.
Without knowing what it was, Foluce had stolen a Toa Stone. The Stone was an antique that required a Suva for a Matoranís transformation, so he was not immediately transformed. Instead, he was caught by an archivist who chased after Foluce, until, as chance would have it, the two Matoran found themselves in a chamber containing a dusty, archived Suva. Seeing no easy escape, Foluce climbed on the Suva and pulled a hammer from his tool belt to defend himself. The archivist lunged towards him, and Foluce struck the Matoran in the head. As he swung, the Toa Stone slipped from his hand, and fell to the earth. As soon as it touched the Suva, a bright light flashed, and Foluce was transformed into a Toa. Overjoyed and mystified by his newfound strength, Foluce almost forgot that the archivist lay dead at his feet, killed by the hammerís strike. When he heard footsteps approaching, Foluce fled through the tunnels, and escaped into the desert.
The ancient sands, lingering from the old world of Bara Magna, were not kind to Foluce. Within two days, the amateur Toa experienced terrifying hallucinations. Still, he was more afraid of retribution by the Order of Mata Nui for his crimes than he was of dehydration. He trudged on, but by the third day, Foluce collapsed from the heat.
He awoke to find a terrifyingly large and disfigured Toa of Water attending to him. He recoiled, but she snatched him up, held him in place, and, using her power over Water, cleansed the sand from his joints. The large Toa then released him, went to the door of the small infirmary Foluce was located in, and called out to somebody. The Toa held the door open, and a Makuta in vibrant purple armor stepped in. The Makuta thanked the Toa of Water by the name of Caetissa, and she exited the room. Turning towards Foluce, the Makuta then introduced himself. Then the Makuta, named Shakahv, began to ask Foluce questions. How was he feeling? Why was he wandering alone in the desert? Where was his team? When Foluce told Shakahv that he was without a team, the Makuta offered Foluce a place in his fortress. Foluce declined, claiming that his punishment in the desert was just. Shakahv said no more, and exited the room.
A few hours later, Shakahv returned, and told Foluce that he needed to see something. Taking Foluce to the surface and giving him a telescope to look through, Shakahv pointed out a strange event taking place in the distance. Eight Toa stood in the desert, discussing something. The conversation got heated, and one of the Toa drew his sword. Five of the Toa grouped together and fought the three others, killing them without much trouble. Foluce watched in horror as the five looked in his direction. Shakahv explained that the Toa were his allies, and that the three who were killed were searching for Foluce. He explained that the Order of Mata Nui was corrupt, and that the Toa would have killed him if they had the chance. Then Shakahv offered Foluce one more a chance to stay with him; protection from the evil Order of Mata Nui in exchange for loyalty, and a small amount of elemental power. Foluce accepted, still shaken from the battle that had taken place.
Shortly after, Shakahv put Foluce through an intense training program. He learned how to fight, how to wield his Kanohi, and how to use his elemental powers. Foluceís strength greatly increased, and soon he was a very powerful Dark Toa. He still had an aptitude for inventing, and made his own weapons from spare parts around Shakahvís fortress. In addition, he made tools and weapons for some other Dark Toa and even a fully operational exo-suit for an injured Bio-Racer. Everything seemed good for Foluce, until Shakahv decided that it was time for him to complete his training and face a Dune Lizard.
Shakahv brought Foluce down into a dungeon, where a hulking, scaly beast lay sleeping. Shakahv ordered Foluce to destroy it, but as Foluce approached the thing, it awoke, and sent Foluce flying with a swipe of its claw. The Dune Lizard roared, and Foluce regained his footing. He charged the beast, and struck it in the shoulder with a heavy kick. The Dune Lizard barely flinched, however, and was upon Foluce in a flash. The creature tore at Foluceís armor, and slashed at his limbs. Right when the beast was about to deal the final blow, it shuddered, recoiled, and returned to where it was sleeping. Foluce strained his broken body to see Shakahvís Mask of Mind Control glowing, and then everything went dark.
When Foluce awoke, searing pain shot immediately through his body. Dozens of his components were bent or broken, and lacerations across his body had been poorly stitched together. He was appalled by his deformation and horrified by the recent events as he began to remember his bout with the Dune Lizard. Foluce quickly concluded that it was the fault of Shakahv that he was in his condition, and elected to leave as soon as he could walk. When he tried to move, however, he was overcome by pain, and passed out once more.
After weeks of healing, Foluce was able to move, but many of his limbs were permanently damaged and deformed. Since he could not escape, he instead began creating blueprints for mechanical enhancements that would give him back his mobility. The plans were soon completed, but he still could not build them because he was stuck in a small medical bed, away from any equipment or materials. The day soon came, however, when he was forced to act. The Toa had discovered the base of the Makuta, and their best fighters had infiltrated the outer rooms. Using the medical equipment in the room he was in, Foluce began a cut-down version of his mechanical enhancements. Within an hour, Foluce had completed his machine, and integrated it onto his body. The pain was intense, but he could move now. Stumbling out of the room, he saw that the halls were devastated, and Dark Toa were all running towards the sound of combat. Foluce went in the other direction, but didnít get far before his machine began to fail. Limping along down the hall, he came across a small band of the most powerful Dark Toa in the base. The leader, Zethlin, looked at Foluce with disgust, but Ruos, the injured Bio-Racer, remembered Foluce, and advised Zethlin to help him. The group of Dark Toa, now known as the Apocalypse, took Foluce up, and escaped the war-torn fortress.
Foluce was the mechanic of the group, and as such he repaired weapons and armor for the Apocalypse as they traveled through the desert. As nomads, the Apocalypse went from small town to small town, killing, stealing, and burning. Foluce managed to build himself another suit of mechanical armor to help him move about, but it was still not as perfect as his plans had been, and he therefore did not engage much in fighting. Zethlin became a supporter of Foluce avoiding combat, and had grown to value Foluceís mechanical prowess. He claimed that technology, not ancient arts and practices, were what could bring Spherus Magna to its glorious destruction. When Zethlin heard tell of an island called Dirru Nui, where strange creatures that were incredibly intelligent dwelled, he quickly told Foluce, and the Apocalypse travelled there with much haste.
Upon arrival, Zethlin made peace with the creatures of Dirru Nui, called the Dirvum. The creatures were incredibly intelligent, and their technology was far more advanced than what the Toa and Matoran had possessed. They were spiteful of the Toa who lived on nearby islands, who prevented the Dirvum from expanding beyond Dirru Nui. Foluce took a liking to the Dirvum, and built with them often. He perfected and built his mechanical armor, and became stronger and faster than even the most powerful Toa. With the Dirvum, Foluce helped engineer and build the Citadels: massive, mobile fortresses that could raze a city and resurrect an army of the dead, using Kanohi-enhancement technology on a Tryna. With a host of assistants and seemingly limitless resources, Foluce was indeed very happy. When he was asked to pilot a Citadel, however, he was hesitant to comply. Still, when the Campaign for Spherus Magna began, Foluce proved to be a resourceful and imaginative commander, which led to much success against even the strongest cities. He even played a large role in winning the loyalty of the Barraki, who were each granted a seafaring Citadel to help in the Campaign for Spherus Magna.
Foluce was sent south to Ba-Wahi, a country populated mostly by Toa and Matoran of Gravity and Sonics. Foluce conquered most of the semi-rural land with ease. Until he reached the capital of New Ba-Koro, the resistance was manageable. To ensure Foluceís success, Zethlin sent a seafaring Citadel, commanded by Kalmah, a Barraki warlord, as reinforcements. With Foluce attacking by land, and the Barraki attacking by sea, New Ba-Koro was surrounded. However, the Toa of Ba-Wahi were strong, and well-prepared. Before the seafaring Citadel could fire a shot, a large group of Toa of Gravity used their powers to make the ship incredibly heavy. The metal hull groaned, flexed, and began to sink in the water. Quickly, the ship unleashed a volley of projectiles, but they were hastily aimed, and many missed their targets. The Citadel then fell below the surface, and sank to the bottom of the ocean.
Meanwhile, a large force of Toa charged Foluceís Citadel. Foluce deployed his troops, but they were outmatched by the Toa. As Toa fell, however, Foluce increased the size of his force by reanimating the deceased heroes. The Toa were pushed back, and Foluceís army grew even larger. He strained himself to control such a large force, even with the incredible power of the Citadelís power amplifier. Victory was near at hand, however, and the Toa began to feel overwhelmed. They were pushed back into the walls of their city, and were unable to push the enemy back out into open ground. Despite his deep concentration, Foluce smiled at his most gratifying victory yet.
The pilot of Foluceís Citadel, an esteemed Dirvum with great skill as a tactician, smiled as well. That is, until he saw a silent shadow fly over the deck of his fortress. Looking towards its source, he saw only a tiny shimmer in the sky. Then, the shimmer began to solidify into two points of light, which then became visible as two Kanohi Hunas, Masks of Invisibility. Alarmed, the pilot shouted orders to the gunners to shoot down the two Toa of Sonics, mounted on skyboards, who had just broken through the Citadelís defenses by use of their powers to dampen the sound of the skyboardsí engines, and their Kanohi to avoid being seen. Frantically, the turrets came about, and shot at the Toa, but it was too late. The Toa landed on the Citadelís control room, where Foluce was deep in concentration, struggling to control his army. The Toa placed their hands on the metal hull, breathed in, and sent a massive, deafening resonation through the roof of the control room. Foluce placed his hands over his ears, and cried out as the sound shook his entire body. His concentration was broken, and the hordes of undead at his command collapsed. Acting quickly, the Toa inside New Ba-Koro poured out of the city and charged at the Citadel. Many were hit by the guns, but many more managed to climb the legs of the gigantic machine, and brought the fight to the Dirvum who managed the Citadel. Not posessing any elemental powers of their own, the lightly-armed Dirvum were quickly overwhelmed by the Toa who had managed to make their way on board.
Foluce, knowing that the undead would not help him now, removed the Tryna he was wearing and returned his own mask to his face. He drew his weapon, and waited. The door pounded once, twice, and then collapsed inward as a Pakari-wielding Toa broke through the solid hatch as if it were tinfoil. Foluce opened fire, and the Toa fell before even entering the room. Half a dozen others were quickly at hand, and Foluce cooly dispatched three of them before they were upon him. He leaped back, shot a fourth Toa, and swung the stock of his rifle around to connect with the head of a fifth, who crumpled at the blow. The sixth Toa, another Toa of Sonics, send a blast of sound at Foluce, making his ears cringe at the intensity. Three more Toa quickly joined him as they arrived, and helped to subdue Foluce. They powered down his mechanical suit, stripped him of his weapons, and tied him up.
The battle seemed won as the Toa hauled Foluce into their city to be imprisoned, and there was much rejoycing. That is, until an explosion hit the outer wall near the sea. Rushing to see what had happened, many Toa, including Foluceís guards, abandoned the area. Foluce was left alone, but was unable to escape his bonds. He listened as more explosions sounded, closer and closer to his location. Then he saw dozens of Toa retreating in sheer panic. Looking towards where they came from, he saw hundreds of drenched, seaweed-donning corpses, each with an artillery shell in its hands. Obviously the Barrakiís Citadel was disabled, but the control room was intact, even at those depths. The corpses ran after the Toa, and when they were damaged, they pressed the nose cone and destroyed themselves as well as a large area around them. A Toa of Ice ran past Foluce, and as his pursuer neared the crippled Apocalypse member, the Toa shot a shard of ice towards the corpse. It hit the creature in the head, but it did not die. Rather, it looked at the explosive it was carrying, and, activating it, smiled back at the Toa. Foluce watched in fear as the flames consumed first the corpse, then the Toa, and finally, Foluce himself. The impact was worse than the pain he endured at the hands of the Toa of Sonics, and his entire body was crushed and ignited. The pain was blinding, deafening, and finally numbing, as Foluce, the thief, passed out of existance, and so did New Ba-Koro.

Well, here's the next Apocalypse member! Sorry for the wait, it's been a challenge to coordinate the last few stories. Still, I think that Foluce is one of my favorite builds.

Again, this is the Toa version of Foluce. Ben Cossy is in charge of building the Apocalypse members in their titan/mutant/mechanical forms.

This is my first attempt at this sort of hand design, using the Hero Factory armor as a gauntlet (I don't know who the credit should go to there. I think I saw Chronos Omega use it). Despite the lack of articulation, I think it looks very good.

The legs, which I'm also very happy with. Custom upper legs, and a funky, quasi-custom lower leg design.

I'm even quite pleased with the back design, which is usually the place where MOCists tend to neglect. Overall, I think I gave this guy a weak, yet still dangerous-looking stature. Not your typical Toa of Earth, that's for sure.

Foluce with his mining drill.

Typically, these drills were mounted on carts and used by Onu-Matoran to create new tunnels for the Archives. Foluce, being a Toa, was strong enough to steal one and use it as a weapon, although he later replaced it with a rifle, out of his distaste for direct combat.

Disarmed, Foluce was still a worthy opponent. Shakahv trained him how to fight opponents who were larger than himself, so his fighting technique is somewhat unorthodox.

Kung Fu pose.

Foluce with his drill.

Another action pose.

So that's four down, three to go. I actually have them mostly built, but I can't give an exact date as to when they will be posted, because the stories need to be completed. Look for them soon!

Also, please support my Cuusoo project, Hero Factory Mask Packs. Thanks!

Thanks for viewing, let me know what you think!

DANG. I kept forgetting to comment on this guy. :P I'd have to find time to read through all your stories then come back and comment. XD Anyway, epic job dude! Love the gunmetal with silver and the drill looks boss. The main pic is very cool too. This has to be my favorite of your Apocalypse members alongside Drusus. ;)

Quoting Vorred 03 I really like all of your Apocalypse-members, all of them have this simple-looking but very detailed, clean and complex look! The storys are also nice to read, and I easily see how much time you've spend to create this character! You also mentioned that you work with Cossy on your story... will he be back soon? It's sad that he got inactive.
He's in a "MOCing block", although I think that if enough people bug him about his inactivity, he'll post something. I think he's on a break from school now, so hopefully he'll get something built. I think he's currently working on Shakahv.

Quoting Chopperskull ! First of all, that main pic is really captivating and well edited, so props on that. Sorry I didn't comment earlier, I waited a few days so I could be open for time to read the BIO. I love how Shakahv made Foluce belive the toa were bad and corrupt :) that was interesting indeed. BTW, are you making Shakahv or did you already ? CUZ I WANNA SEE HIM ! *continues reading* For a long BIO back-story, it was really well written and worth the time to read :D AS FOR THE MOC: Horrible. What, do you expect that to be true ? Cuz it isn't ! this moc is really awesome ! :D The legs are well bulked and covered, the body flows and looks great, and those gauntlets just make him really look like a miner or he's been working in caves for a while. Really amazing character and that drill..... <3 <3 <3 :D
Thanks, dude! I'm glad I've pleased in every aspect of the build. As far as Shakahv goes, I think Ben wants to be the first to build him. He made a large bricklink order of purple, so hopefully he'll make him soon. His bio is written up. If you want to read it, I'll talk to Cossy and I'm sure we can come up with something.

Quoting Max W. Sweet! i do like the drill weapon- although it looks a bit heavy for him. anyways, I remembered you made a FFXIII tilter (myrmidon/crusader/orion/viking) a while back. I think you should do more from that series. I've looked around and I've never seen any other Lego Final Fantasy, and I think a shambling cie'th or a dreadnought would look really cool if you could pull it off.
Thanks! I've considered making some more, but maybe I have to play the game again for some inspiration. :)

Quoting Lego Obsessionist Chilling story, really fantastic. The build looks great, he's my favorite so far. The loose tires bother me, but the only way to fix that would be rubber bands. Very nice legs and drill. Good mask choice as well.
Thanks! I wish there was an easy way to make those tires fit better. They certainly look better than nothing, though. I want Foluce to be skinny, but not THAT skinny. Haha :)

This is a really great moc that for its size it seems quite complex. I took the time to read his story, and I must say it was very well thought out. Btw, I noticed right away that the drill was from the elusive Chrome Crusher set from the Rock Raiders series! I only know of them because when I was younger I played that game on a CD. It became impossibly hard and complex, I almost beat it.
