I've got one of those. It's great for motorizing cars, because you can slide a technic rod through the 2 holes and put wheels on the end, then put another rod connecting from the single hole and attach it to the motor (old) and do the same for the front axles (or rear axles, whatever one you do next. Next you hook the motor up to the battery box (old) and build the body of your car. Put the body onto the undercarriage, start the battery box and watch your car speed off. I've got all the right parts for this, other than another of the piece in your picture.
