(Coruscant, The Jedi Temple approximately one year since the Defeat of Darth Vulnero and the final events of Balance of the Force)

Jedi Master Ban Kazi walked through the halls of the Jedi Temple pondering the events of the past year.

He remembered that fateful day on Geonosis when the Clone Wars had begun and now spread throughout the rest of the galaxy.

He recalled the day when Master Juon Sai, the man who had almost killed him when he was still a sith, was murdered by his failed apprentice turned Dark Jedi, Hazar Lamus.

Finally he remembered the final duel between himself and his former Sith Master, Lord Tiberius Kasamir, and the defeat of Darth Vulnero and his rogue Dark Jedi.

He stopped at the charred armor of Darth Vulnero. Even from the grave Vulnero still haunted him, the armor pulsating with dark power. Almost as if calling his name, "Ban, Ban"

Boris- Ban!

(Ban Kazi skook is head as Master Boris Yakerno walked up beside him)

Boris- Got something on your mind?

Ban- We do we even have this blasted demon's armor.

Boris- The Jedi Council and I figured it would be better to have it under guard in the Temple than laying around for another Dark Jedi to pick up.

Ban- You always were terrible at making decisions Boris.

Ban- It's been nearly a year since that first battle on Geonosis and the Clone Wars are raging all the same, I don't like sitting around the Temple while lives are being lost out there.

Boris- You never understood the meaning of rest and relaxation my friend, it's important that we have time to recuperate. We are peacekeepers not warriors you know, though I sometimes doubt that myself.

Ban- I just wish there was a peace to keep.

Boris- Well, perhaps I have some good news at least. You remember Mr. Fitze, yes?

Ban- That slimy dock manager who almost killed the Senator from Nar Shadda? Yes unfortunately I know of him.

Boris- It seems our Fitze was actually the Head of Republic Intelligence and is now going exchange his knowledge of Separatist plans in exchange for a lighter prison sentence I-

Jedi- Master Kazi! Master Kazi!

An Ikotchi Jedi runs up beside the two)

Jedi- Oh, I...um...so sorry to intrude masters but...

Ban- Well you've already intruded and mercifully saved me from Boris's rants so spit it out!

Jedi- Oh, well...The council has tasked you Master Kazi with leading the force to liberate Fondor from the Separatist attack.

Boris- Fondor, that battle's been going on for nearly three months by now!

Ban- And I'm going there to change that I suppose.

Boris- Well you're getting what you asked for my friend good luck! Oh and don't mind Master Kazi...what was your name again?

Kuve- Kuve master. Kuve Bac'h.

Boris- Well Kuve, I'm sure we'll see much more of you and good luck Ban. May the force be with us.

(Later aboard Ban Kazi's flagship the Vindicator)

Captain Dolar- Sir, all preparations are finished we are ready when you are.

(Ban stared out at the planet below before responding)

Ban- Very well captain, take us out.

Just a very brief introduction to my new series A Republic at War

The series is set about one year after the events of Balance of the Force still during the Clone Wars up until Order 66 and the Rise of the Empire.

Also Ban Kazi's ship's name the Vindicator came from my Attack on the Vindicator vig.
