A combination of the 2007 and 2012 Y-Wing's sets.
THIS IS NOT PROPERLY A MOC.
About this creation
Maybe yes, it is (a little bit) a MOC as it does not exist. You will judge by yourself.
Some explanations:
I'm working on my very first big MOC but I'm still following new sets.

The Y-Wing released in 2007 was superb... concerning the rear part. Lots of details, no stickers, not too many "metaparts". But the cockpit and the front were not accurate -In my humble opinion-.

2012, a new Y-Wing came to life!! Cheers!!
This time, I found the thrusters and body disappointing (Metaparts, stickers, less details). At the opposite, I think Lego designers were at the top of their art with the cockpit.

So I decided to mix both. I had the 2007 set.
I made a BL order of... 4€ (yes!! Only 4€) and I re-built the front part based on the official pics from the 2012 box-art.

From under: the base is inspired by incredible X-Wing by 2x4.

The result. Minors up-grades, some colors are different depending on available bricks but the front is a copy of the official set. The inside is pure creation (including a HUD) but it's not a big deal at that scale (more screens, panels and levers).
Finally, this Y-Wing (I do not dare to call it MOC... ^^ ) is a simple idea to keep your SW fleet "up to date" without selling your left arm.
Sorry Mr Lego, but -promise!- I will give you lot of €€€€ with my current project.
Thanks for watching! You can curse me for what I did with those official sets, I do assume... :)

In model railroading that's called kitbashing! :D
I don't know if your comment is positive or not... I looked for "to bash" in a translator but the meaning I saw gave me no clue (or bad clues). SO, thank you for your king comment OR... I receive every critical opinion to go forward. :)

Hey if you combine others' ideas, it's a MOC. Good work. ~Dave
Your special comment made me leave all kind of embarassment. I do not feel uncomfortable with this MOC anymore. Thank you so much Mister Kaleta!

Hi Marc. I'm not that familiar with Star Wars sets, although to my eyes this looks better than any of Lego's own models of this - a nice, thoroughly researched project. I look forward to seeing your big MOC :-)
Thanks for your support and for always being here, Nick! I promise, you will see pictures of my current WIP.
