After getting the Harbor Marina set, I knew I had to use the surfboard and build a beach. And, after looking at some photos from our vacation to Southern California, I thought the sunny beachside town of La Jolla just north of San Diego would be perfect. It would also give me an opportunity to get some good waves and rock work in. So here ya go.
About this creation
Rudies All Around - Hepcat (perfect beach music to enjoy while you view)
A nice little wave nothing to crazy
Cue the surfer music
Gettin' ready to scuba and other typical beach activities, not that I would know living in Texas. I hope you surfers noticed that board waxing in towards the back.
I was pretty impressed with the surf
"Aaaargh! If ye don't bite my line I'll make you walk the plank!" (that was cheesy)
As many of you know, people are suckers for good rock work
The transition from beach to street was difficult
But without this staircase, the two levels would seem completely seperate
The saxaphone man returns, and is definetly my favorite part of the whole build
Enjoying a burger while listening to some tunes
Bob's burger shack, a local favorite
A clown on a bench admiring the beach?
These guys in the jeep know whats up
I was originally going to do a dune buggy but the jeep seemed more appropriate
A path going through a garden of sorts
Ah, skating on the beach. What could be more perfect?
Personally, I think it looks better without the figs
