This is what would have happened if Loki had asked my labs to help him.
This is Loki's Pillar of Doom.
About this creation
Here's Loki's mystical Circle, providing both protection and control over his new gargantuan weapon.
Its legs can crush Earth's forces like cockroaches!
WTF!
The top of Loki's mech is composed by a mass of twisting tentacles with a freaking squadron of Mechs on top fo them!
Each mech is armed with twin-mounted double-barreled plasma weapons!
For a grand total of 40 plasma beams!
Full body view. The Pillar of doom is also armed with 4 lasers on its knees (only against ground forces), a 12x rocket pod (each rocket is bigger than you), 3 high yield warheads and 2 drill claws.
See its powerful legs
Each mechacle (Mech Tentacle) can move independently to either deal with many different targets or to concentrate fire on stronger threats.
Stark: "Uuuh...look at the time! Sorry, I had a prior engagement!"
Sorry guys, you know how much I like to give my mechas some Kung Fu, but at 90 cm of height, and with the weight of 10 mechs on top I just couldn't build legs both strong enough to carry its weight AND to be near-human poseable...
Except I TOTALLY DID!
WATAAH! Cool martial arts pose!
The hips have near complete human movement (but you can't use it, because if you spread the legs too wide they can't support it weight, and it falls on a split), and the ankles' only limitation is that they can't swivel horizontally. Each leg joint is supported by a triple AT_AT snap joint.
Here's the weapons. As you can see the claws can be thrown and recovered via a black chain!
Bonus blacklight picture.
I hope you like it, because it will be a pain to sort!
Here's a LINK to Xenomurphy's Superhero Contest :)
Note #1: Its legs were even stronger than you see here. But the heat wave (called very aptly Charon) loosened its ball joints with some ill effects: I had to turn off air conditioning before shooting, 'cause in the cold the tentacles on top kept falling down, the ankles wouldn't stay put so I had to add an additional piston behind each ankle, and it can't stand on one leg anymore. I hope I didn't ruin anything permanently.
*blinks* *looks left-to-right* Something... screwy deja-vu-type thing going on. Man, Yuri I KNOW that I COMM'ed on this MOC. Surely, I did not imagine having done so. I dunno. Beats me. (Didn't we talk about the legs bearing the weight, and then failing due to extremely hot Italian summer?....) Heck, maybe I DID imagine it. Ah, well. ANyway - STUNNING, amAZING, and frankly, kinda IMPOSSIBLE Build, dude. I know I remember thinking there was NO WAY it was standing on its own, but then you proved it did. I'm gobsmacked, M8. Incredible detail, far-out concept, GLORIOUS, GLORIOUS OVERKILL. =) My hat's off to you, Sir. CHEERS!!! 5/5!!!
well, I finally saw the avengers movie yesterday and now I can relate to the Loki dude. The mech really makes sense to me now, awesome work, menacing look and somehow over the top villainery. Nice!

Now this is a mech of diabolic proportions. The legs are my favorite parts here. I hope you use them in other designs as well. Best of luck in the contest.
I think I'll use the same structure again, but with 4x snap joints instead of 3x, and with 4 pistons in the ankles instead of 2. That way I can increase stability for another giant mech, but I won't be able to give its thighs that specific "cleft" with neon inside that nobody noticed in this one, yet is awesome.

That is something really amazing! Holy wow, never seen anything like that! So awesome, it's funny... absurd-funny like Gurren Lagaan designs. I freaking love it!

Yuri, this is probably the most unique design I've seen in a long time. This is truely one heavy armed and frightening mech and the poseability under these circumstances is amazing. Good luck.
Hahaha! Charon costed me several HF limbs and a handful of old Bionicle clip joint connectors. Not sure if it was only the heat of if it was heat + weight, but sure I'm glad I used the old ones.
Quoting Quad ?????
Wait, is Loki a hero? I hope the judges think so. This thing is cool!
Villains were expressly allowed by the Judges.

I wonder if the pillar could stand a full-force tackle by the hulk though...
No way. Didn't you know Loki's a Villain? He's not supposed to win: that's why he built this monstrosity, and he's standing right in front of it sporting the very thing that allows him to control it.
Awesomesauce! To get something that tall and unbalanced looking to pose like that is an awesome feat. I wonder if the pillar could stand a full-force tackle by the hulk though...
Heh, yeah, I always have this nagging feeling while building large MOCs- I'll have to sort them eventually. Very impressive, I love the legs and tower of mecha.

The mechs chilling on top seem a bit odd to me, but overall this thing is a beast! I think the Avengers movie would have turned out a bit differently had Loki come to Fassio instead of searching for the Tesseract. This'll be a tough one to beat.
This is so totally fun! It just keeps getting better as you scroll down through the shots. Awesome work and photos under your 'temperature' circumstances. Impressive and makes me laugh = perfect.
I literally laughed out loud (in a good way) when I saw the little mechs on top. As always, I love the way you combine system and Bionicle. I really appreciate the way you utilize this skill when it is in the context of something I understand (superheroes). Great work. ~Dave
