An airport shuttle monorail for use in my in-progress airport.
About this creation

This monorail was created with BrickSmith using the LDraw parts library.

The monorail will be part of a modular-style minifig scale airport I am working on. The goal is to get a lot of detail into the models with modular accessibility (rather than removed sides).

I couldn't find a way to get really clean sliding doors onto the model while maintaining minifig scale; ideally the project uses "realistic" access, e.g. stairwells, escalators and elevators between floors, completely closed sides with modular removed roof access.

Since the scale is more "traditional minifig" (hence a light rail being only 4 studs wide) it's really hard to get any kind of mechanical actuation in there.

No interior seats - the monorail will make a short loop between terminals and is thus standing room only.

The battery box lifts out vertically; it is not snapped in but rather sits in place by tongues fitting into 1x2 slots in the "engine room" below it.

I have no idea what the stuff below the battery is supposed to be. I just got excited with the use of technic cylinder blocks as greebles. :-)
