The Citadel - a micro castle
This all started when my 4 year old son found some castle minifigs and got a dwarf collectable minifig as a gift. He decided they needed a castle. Due to limitation of parts we built a mini scale castle. While he was helping me find pieces he built a spaceship that is pictured at the bottom.
About this creation

Here is the bonus picture of the ship my son built. He has the same philosophy as me when it comes to spaceship building: there is no such thing as too many weapons!

Outdoor photography is so interesting. I may be a bit of a photographer myself! I love this castle. Many a technique implied.

That's a sweet castle! I'm a sucker for medieval, even if I almost never build in the theme myself.

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Whoops, and I forgot to mention your son's ship in my first comment. It's great, especially for his age! He's already better than half of MOCpages, given a few more years under your tutelage and who knows what he'll be able to build...
Thanks. I will have to check out Eggy Pop's stuff!

Castle, on a rock, with a waterfall. Going by Eggy Pop's criteria you nailed it! Of course, by any criteria this is superb. The use of textured grill bricks for the portcullis is excellent, and you have plenty of other interesting textures and shapes in the walls. I also really like the tree deign using the bushes. Great work!

Thanks for all the kind comments! My son does have a good eye for piece placement and symmetry. Honestly the only thing I helped with was adding a few pieces so the canopy and long wings wouldn't fall off. The rest was all him!

Quoting David Alexander Smith I have exactly the same problem with the discolration of old grey pieces. Even worse with white pieces (hence no white MOCs yet). Is every woman on the planet reading 'that' book! BTW brilliant spaceship for a four year old - and the castle's not bad too.
I think every woman on the planet SHOULD read that book. My wife flew through all three pretty quick. It was great well it lasted but now that she is done with them I am back to your standard married guy schedule.

Quoting Lego Builders Nice castle! I think it's about we (LB Sr., I and our sister Lego Girl) made a castle - we've got at least 50 castle minifigs that are without a castle! Tell your son that his moc is very good for his age...my MOCs weren't that good when I was 4! -LB Jr.
Oh that is screaming for a castle to be built. It could be a family collaboration.

Quoting H Bomb Haha, NICE! Love it. The top-down view of the moat makes me want to play old school video games! (that's a darn good space-ship too, kid)
Thanks H it does have an 8 bit feel to it!

An all-around amazing castle - my favorite part is the drawbridge, but the rest is well-made too. Your son is a great builder considering his age!

Quoting MortalSwordsman . I love this. It has a real oldskool feel to it. I especially like the drawbridge and waterfall. The upper level is fantastic. That spaceship is AWESOME!
The parts used are definitely vintage. I originally had the base built with larger parts but because all my grays are discolored and nicked up from abuse when I was a kid it didnít look right. I went back and rebuilt it with the different shades to look more purposeful. I guess my definition and my wifeís definition of 50 shades of gray are different!
