About this creation

---Intergalactic Flora/Fauna Log Entry: Nepenthes and Internecivus Hybrid---

Catalogue Flora/Fauna: Jurisdiction LV-438

Discovered 2156 by Edwin T. Sultis, cosmobiologist and native colonist to the LV system. Recorded as "an ungodly beast of a plant" and tentatively named "Phyllamphora diabola".

Originally thought to be a parasitic interaction, further studies indicate it to be a parasitoidic relationship, or rather hybridization , of a plantoid of a similar genus to Nepenthes Giganticus (Giant Pitcher Plant) and Internecivus Raptus. The Raptus acts as an active muscle system operating the peristome and glandular crest of the Giganticus. The most interesting thing to note is the appendages which the Raptus creates of the filliforms on either medial and lateral sides of the plant.

The hybrid is a top 'predator,' a scavenger really, and habitates marshy or rocky areas common to Giganticus. The Hybridization is not a commonplace occurance to the Giganticus species, but occurs at maximum maturity, about a size of 6-7 feet.

---End Log---

BARON's Notes:

Well, the obvious inspiration of this is the Alien, from Alien/Aliens/Alien Vs Predator etc, and a common pitcher plant. I basically thought that the pitcher plant is like a stomach, with which the Alien feeds with. Anyway, more photos below:

You may be wondering how I made the system attachements onto the technic-rod vig. Well, here's how I did: a combination of O-hole system bricks and the 3-bit stud-stopped rods on the end. Works pretty well, if you ask me. Feel free to use it, just give a nod of credit.

Well! Hope you like it!
Wish me luck in the BCBS!

Quoting Chronos Omega Just noticed the title. "But Westley, what about the ZPOUS's?"

I love this! Very unusual look with that wide flattened area around the fangmaw, the ring accented it. Believable flaura look, there. I loved all the NPU-worthy work done on the back and shoulders, wish more of those bits were molded in green by Lego for you to work with. VERY nice work! =)

So cute!! I love plant-based beings, and this one is great! The head is probably my favourite part, but I lve how you build the clwas. It's a shame the lack of pictures. Good luck!!

The base of it almost looked like it was made out of system, but when I realized that it were technic pieces, it looked very cool! The creature itself is pretty cool, even when I won't say the arms look much like by a plant... but that could also be some alien-thing. Good luck in the contest!
