About this creation

Codename: 1055-Q Grey Lady "Poltergeist"
Faction: UGov
Description: Developed from the Grey Lady interceptors, the Poltergeist is a mid sized bomber class unit. Unlike the much smaller Phantom, the Poltergeist is heavily armed, has a much larger engine capacity, is crewed by 4 and packs additional mine and missile racks in the wing assembly.

It still possesses a static jump unit, for fast insertion into combat situations, and possesses the same twin turbine cannons.

It increases its engine capacity by adding 4 additional plasma thrusters, which can give it an extra boost of speed to get into, and out of, strafing runs much faster.

The main fuselage is significantly wider and heavier, which means despite having more thrust and power than the Phantom, it requires much more power to achieve the same flight speeds.

The additional armour also provides for the addition of ray shielding of the thruster and cockpit area, making it far more resilient against counter offensive measures.

Infamous for the relatively weak wing assembly, which is the primary target of any "clever" opponent.

Quoting Krill Zayvalov Have you ever thought to use one of the Grey Lady warp thingies on the back of a mecha? I did basically the same thing with my Archangel, Hunter and Diver mechs. The last 2 were my first, so they are purposely giant. The hunter mech has an "Orbit Launcher" and the diver has a somewhat primitive JumpBooster as I call it. The archangel has a very slim, elegant looking one, but then it's the "newest of the three created by United Mecha and Accesories Co. (UMAC) I'm putting them on on the weekend
To be honest, I haven't been thinking along those lines, but it certainly is a good idea. The 25th Century Mecha series mechs, to date, have mostly been not much bigger than hard suits (ie roughly 8-10 feet tall) but if I were to start building say units intentionally larger the prospect of incorporating jump tech would not be unfeasible.
