Doctor Who and the Sontarans
About this creation
I stood on the high platform; beside me was the experimental TARDIS machine that the Sontarans were developing. As I worked to disable it, heavy footsteps interrupted my concentration.

I turned as laser fire rang out, just in time to see my assistant collapse upon the metal floor.

The Sontarans had arrived, and my resolve to defeat them solidified into a fist of iron.

Excerpt from the Doctor's log.

So, as you may have guessed, I built a MOC based around the popular British television show, Doctor Who. This MOC features the fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) as the the large scarf printed on Pippin's torso reminded me of the the massive scarf that was the fourth Doctor's hallmark. I also came up with a Sontaran design which I wanted to use, and while it's not perfect I think that it works pretty well.

The Doctor attempts to disable the Sontarans' time machine before they can use it for evil.

I really like the cheese mosaic technique (invented by Katie Walker) and used it as a logo type marking on the wall.

Some cooling and control machinery.

A fuel container. It started out as a round tower technique, but I didn't have enough pieces to make a decent tower, so it morphed into a fuel tower.

How I built the tower. You're just not a real MOCer until you develop your own round tower technique.

A spiral staircase leads to the catwalk and platform where the time machine is housed. The stairs are inspired by one of Chris Stone's Doctor Who MOCs.

A bird's eye view of the whole thing.
Thanks for stopping by!

Quoting Michael Rutherford An excellent amount of details in a very economic amount of space. I'm a big fan of the fuel tank and the cat walk by the way. But... (I have to ask) what’s the deal with the three spots with no tile on the floor (next to the light saber handles)? People would be tripping over those holes in the floor all day long! I see there is no stud on that line, but I'm surprised you didn't "Schooch" a tile over the bald spot or drop 1x1s right into them. Again, I hate to nit pic...but its right in the middle of the floor. Give it up man...what was that all about? Attack!
Haha, yeah, in retrospect that didn't really work. I had originally built it to be more of a broken down/ under construction room, but then it evolved into something more polished and I forgot about that section. Of course, maybe it's a trick that the Sontarans invented, and the assistant on the floor just tripped and wasn't shot... ;) Thanks!

Unfortunately, being an ignorant layman, I have never seen any of the original Doctor Who episodes, but this is great! I should think that the Sontarans would have a lot harder time concealing their weak spots with those helmets though...
