Halo: Reach M6G Magnum
Built partially Summer 2011. Set aside 1 year. Completed July 2012.
About this creation
Finally! After an entire year, I decided to finish this Magnum. Yesterday, while I was sorting bricks from a few disassembled MOCs ( Halo DMR/BR , The Wookie Chronicles - Season 1 - Part 2 , Hulk's Dirigible ), I remembered that I hadn't completed the M6G. Last year I hit some dead ends with the model, so I decided to wait a while, then come back approaching it from a different angle. Well, I ended up taking almost all of the model apart and fixing the problems I had (If you've seen the WIP of this, try to find some of the changes I made. Some are fairly noticeable, others are pretty tricky to find!). I'm actually really happy with the result! Expect to see more Halo weapons from me in the future!

Okay, enough talking about the model. Let's get on to the pics...

Halo: Reach M6G Magnum This was the only reference photo I used. For a while I was going to Forge and taking screenshots of the Magnum against a solid background like the sky. But then... ...the Red Ring of Death!! ;(

Sadly, this gun doesn't really have any functions. The trigger works, but that's about it. The next weapon I build will have a LOT more moving parts!

Yes, that's a light brick in there.

To turn it on, you just remove the cover and move the light brick back a stud.

The grip was what I was having trouble with last year. But with a fresh start, it came together in an hour or so!

1st person.

Reloading.

I always thought the way you hit enemies with the Magnum was hilarious. Plausible... ...but still hilarious.

No glue was used in the making of this model. And yes, it is very sturdy. Feel free to leave comments. Thanks! :)

Quoting pink stormtrooper Pretty good! I like the shaping of the bulky top section. Something I never understood about the magnum though... Why is there a rear iron sight and no front iron sight? And even if it was, the rear sight would have to be raised over an inch to be level with the front one!
I think the idea behind the whole iron sight thing is that the "bulky top section" is a smart-link system which integrates the aiming system into a Spartan's helmet. From the reference picture I used, it looks like there is a front iron sight underneath the smart-link apparatus (which I assume can be removed).

Quoting CatMan River As a tip, even though you said it was sturdy, I recommend putting a small piece of paper, maybe no more than the size of what you're connecting, between a stud connection, so that when they lock together, the paper tightens everything. It works WONDERS on flimsy models... not that this beast isn't flimsy~
Thanks! That's a good idea... ...although I'm a strict purist (except when it comes to lighting).

Quoting Andrew Brown Can you send me a instructure of HALO gun to my email brownandrew916@gmail.com
Sorry man, but I don't have the software capabilities to do instructions. I also have a few "illegal connections" here and there (in other words, bricks held together by friction or tension)... I can't now, but if I ever do, I'll let you know! :)
