This is a stone-giant from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel 'The Hobbit'. In Middle Earth related books they are rarely mentioned, only in legends of Gondor and Rohan.
The stone-giants in 'The Hobbit' lived in the Misty Mountains during the late Third Age. They found a sport in throwing rocks at each other, but they are not described as evil, as Gandalf convinced "a more or less decent giant" to block the entrance to Goblin-town.

I think the studs do their job very well. I tried other bricks, but they just looked weird and more than 1 brick for an eye makes them look too big. |
