Goodness gracious that is awesome. Your first pic is a little misleading. It looked a little fig on a plate for a moment until I took a closer look and realized the editing that went on there. The city in the dome is simply brilliant without the lights. Add the lights, nothing but net. Masterpiece. Well done. |

Brilliantly done Batman! And here I always thought you had a grudge against Superman. :P It's really cool how you built a microscale city AND added lighting! Excellent job!
Just like you're daughters, I like them both. But I do Side with Kairi a BIT more... |

It's one thing to build an amazing microcity. But to put it under "glass"? Genius! Nifty parts usage. Great effects with the lights. Impressive
idea! 10 points.

And speaking of which, has anyone tried to imagine Mr. Kaleta HOLDING THIS CREATION IN HIS HAND?

I'll begin by saying that I consider we have Four Fantastic Winners in this contest. Every single one has scored a top mark in his/her own particular way. Whether it was ingenuity in using available parts, sensitivity in chromatic
choices, cleverness in manipulating ideas or plain (and sometimes subtle) humor, they all managed to really impress through fantastic, skillful MOC's. That being said, please understand that my score will ONLY reflect the sad necessity
of having a first and second place in our contest, as I'm determined not to leave Xenomurphy to face this decision all alone. ----- As for your MOC: I won't insist on your mad building skills, or the perfect control in all that crazy shaping and detailing, or the flawless use of parts in creating the shrunken city. I also won't insist on the fantastic atmosphere
created through use of lights, which adds so much life to your creation! For me, this is just a Brilliant idea and mind blowing ability to manipulate it! It's large, but it's microcale. It's a city with its own pulsating life, and yet it
fits your hand. And speaking of which, has anyone tried to imagine Mr. Kaleta HOLDING THIS CREATION IN HIS HAND? Think about it for a minute... we just might have a Super Hero amongst us. Congratulations, Fantastic One :)! Your score = 9 |

Oh so THIS is what you had in mind for my fortress of solitude all that time ago... Now that I have enough white I may revisit that idea in the future. In the mean time, this is AWESOME! Love the play on size thing you have going! And the life lites really bring it to... well... life! Good luck! ~ Chris.
Ha! I was wondering if you'd remember that; you still need to build it as I gave you that canopy to use :)

It wouldn't be a genuine Kaleta if it didn't stretch the boundaries of category and brick. I did see your WIP of this on Flickr and knew the finale would involve lighting; you did not disappoint. Well played, Detective, well played indeed!~H
Yeah, sorry I didn't get to share more WIPs, I was a tad busy. The first version had more white below the jar and the letters of Kandor were much larger and more stylized; then I realized you wouldn't be able to read them without turning the jar - fail. And yes, I do like to test the limits from time to time :) |

The big blue boy scout, really? Hahaha, this is a neat take on the category, detective. The city is as brilliant as the display with the word Kandor inbuilt. The filigree lightning is a perfect addition to the whole creation, as is the old comic cover. ----- Technically, it counts as micro, since the city itself is a) smaller than in "real life", in this case, smaller than Kandor in the comics and b) the citizens of Kandor in this MOC are smaller than minifigs.
Whether it gets DQed or not, I enjoyed the dual nature of it being a microscale city built life-size. That's what drew me to the subject and made it fun! |

Interesting how this is both microscale and life size at the same time, which brings up a question: is it technically microscale? technically, it's more macro, since it should be smaller than say a superman minifig. on the other hand...AARGH, i dont know, it's too confusing. I'd say it counts though. nice job! :) |

This is beautiful, like the most enchanting snow globe. It is made so delicate and full of lots of little bits to give the city life that I can't even recognise most of them. They have just become a mini city.
You're probably looking at the large technic scuba flippers which were used as engine details in the last Space Police theme.

"Sure I play with them every now and again (Every night to be honest)...." Love it mate. The lights are great but the highlight is the tiny Kryptonian architecture. When said you were doing Kandor i wondered if the 'bottled' part was going to restrict the overall size but I love the shapes you've achieved at the tiny scale. That first picture/ cover is class too. Well done mate, good luck!
I was definitely constrained by the windscreen size (this was the largest I could get in clear), but if you approve, then it must have worked out okay :)

Again, fantastic superhero build, and that whole superman holding the city on the comic book, just awesome. Just wondering though is the city really white in the comics or is it your awesome interpretation?
Nick,
Different comic artists have different interpretations, so there is no one universal standard for Kandor. This is how I chose to interpret it.
