So, I'm currently replaying the Mass Effect trilogy and decided to build a ship inspired by the SSV Normandy SR1. This came out better than expected.
About this creation
So after a couple of months of letting the ending of Mass Effect 3 sink in, together with getting the extended cut DLC, I decided to do a full replay of BioWare's space opera trilogy. And one of the things this trilogy has that truly shines is its spaceship design; Commander Shepard's SSV Normandy (both the SR1 from the first game and the SR2 from the second and third) is a great ship that is downright one of the coolest things in that whole universe. Since I don't exactly have the pieces in the right color scheme (or some of the right pieces, matter of fact) I couldn't exactly recreate either of the incarnations of the Normandy. But I knew I could always try to make something inspired by it. Here's the results:
Much like the original SSV Normandy, the idea behind this ship is collaboration between the human Systems Alliance and the Turian Hierarchy in scientific and technical advancements. The looks of the ship are an amalgamation of Turian and human star ship designs.
Since I didn't have enough bricks in the same color scheme, I built a stand in yellow and red. It does look a bit odd, but it does its job in holding and displaying the model above the ground (or table).
The colour SCHEME looks interesting, but colouring itself seems very busy and random, if you had concentrated colours in larger chunks, it would have a much cleaner look. Excuse me if this does not help, that would be because I am not fammiliar with the source material.
