GUNDAM BZ DEFENDER
Lego Mobile Suit...
About this creation
This is my fourth Gundam MOC, however this one is not from any Gundam continuity this is a custom Gundam based on my new double jointed mech frame design. If you made it to Brickfete you saw this before my internet audience did! Thanks to all the other mech builders for their suggestions and criticisms on my last few mechs which resulted in a more poseable Lego Mobile suit frame for this MOC. This Gundam MOC stands tall at 15 inches 3 inches taller than my usual mech / leader class transformer size and is equipped with a midsection cockpit for its pilot. He is very poseable! Enjoy rate and comment!

Pls also check out my YouTube video for more details on this MOC: click here! .

Armaments and accessories:
Beam Sabers (2)
Beam Daggers (2)
Vulcan Cannon (chest mounted)
Buster Rifle (beam rifle)

I have a few tuts and "how tos" already on making formers and robots on my youtube channel along with many legoforermers feel free to check it out!
Quoting Kalva Pevensie As always Chris an amazing creation!I love that retro look you give all of your gundam/transformer creations. You should start making tutorials on youtube for making robot type lego things like this, I would definitely subscribe.

As always, an impressive gundam! I like the way this one is a kind of thinner, but very detailed and, most of all: playable. A great collection you're building here.

knee click joints were ok in some poses but a pain in others
Quoting Stuart Lucas Top marks for a very Gundam-esque look, lovely asymmetry and all the extra poseability in those double joints. Did you find the knees tended to buckle in some poses, or were the click hinges able to take the weight?

Ah, I see, I see. In that case, If you want a more compact joint than the exo-force joints, I recommend having a look at the elbow joints that Phong Chang uses. They seem to have all the rotation you want, but with less space used. Incidentally though, I should point out that the actual gundam models nowadays don't feature rotation points at the elbows anymore. They have them further up the arm, more towards the shoulder joint.

I just love how your Gundams don't even look like Lego. They look like regular Gundam toys! Great work! ~ Chris.

his design would not give me 360 degree elbow motion .. this build was an exercise in poseability that elbow design would limit it
Quoting Mithryl Altaire Each one of these you make looks better and better. Good to see you branching out in your techniques. The only thing that seems a bit off is the elbows. CCY 8086 has an interesting elbow technique that you don't see very often that might be useful to you if you want double jointing elbows. http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=293624&id=/user_images/54455/1320158516m

Thanks! I was going for non-symetrical for a change as most Gundams seem to be symmetrical!
Quoting "Pick" (brickunion758) Awesome work! I love the slanted armor and asymetry of everything!
