Weathertop (Amon Sul)
Please enjoy my model of Weathertop, scaled to the LEGO minifigure. It averages 18 inches in diameter, to give you a sense of size. This is my entry for the LOTR building challenge from the LEGO Club 2012. I took on the challenge to recreate something from pictures and design something round and ruined. I only have one minfig that could be dressed as a Nazgul, but you might notice that even nine could fit within this ruin to confront the hobbits and Aragorn.

Quoting Predrag Hrubik Neat! Great shape! Nice ruin, maybe only to put a few more gray shade. Very, very nice! Keep making great mocs like this one!
Thanks! I considered applying the multicolor technique to the ruin to give moss-covered effects and such. I got a bit bogged down as to how much or how little. Perhaps I will revise this moc as I grow the mountain below...

Quoting J Man Great build! I'll be entering that contest as well. Good luck to you! 5/5!
Thanks! Here's to all the hundreds of mocs that have been built just for the LOTR contest! I'll look for yours. I've found inspiration from so many mocs that I want to build more.

Quoting William . Great Build! I love the scale and the way you managed to give it the rounded feel. I hope one day youll consider making the whole thing but regardless this is a wonderful moc.
Thank you, very much, for the encouragement. I agree that I could fill it out. The moc's over 1300 pieces now, so I'll have to invest in more bricks before I build more of the mountain below...

Quoting A.N.C Hunt Wow great accuracy, and the size of it is amazing.
Thank you! I found some pictures of the original set used in the movie, as well as pictures of a resin model. I used those images to grasp the concept and started building. I'm glad you like it.
