About this creation
Note: This backstory is completely from my imagination.
The Behemoth-Class Frigate, "The Desert's Spirit," began its lengthy term of service around 2549. It fought victoriously throughout the remainder of the Covenant-Human War. It was constructed at a dry-dock on the high desert of California. Its name was derived from its ability to maintain a semi-invisible status similar to a Spartan's Active Camo. In 2612, it mysteriously disappeared while investigating a Forerunner installation.

"The Desert's Spirit" was one humanity's greatest feats of engineering - at 23,550 ft. long, this ship was truly massive! A Covenant Corvette is shown for comparison.

The front of the ship was equipped with a stunning array of armament: 2 heavy coilguns and a behemoth-class coilgun (inside and at the back of the ship's front grooves) and a nuclear warhead launcher. Other armament includes additional warheads, hundreds of ODST Drop-Pods, and thousands of .88 - .379 mm cannons.

ODST Drop-Pod bays (each stud represents approx. 10 Pods) and observation deck/science lab (on bottom of ship).

Docking bays and bridge.

Yuuuummmm, greebles! :P

The engines. Also, I wanted to make this clear, but I loosely based this ship on a UNSC Frigate, so I used some artistic freedom. The "wings" on this are supposed to be where they are.

In extreme circumstances, the entire bridge can deploy from the main ship.

Thanks for looking! :)

Looking at it from the side or front, it looks like a gun with a scope, but it's a great build though. I challenge you to make this ship in minifig scale. For example, if this micro version were 50 times the length of a micro minifig, take it and make a normal size ship that's 50 times the length of a normal minifig. |

I'm not one to comment on spaceships, but this one really deserves it! You put a lot of work and details into this one. I do have one question though. Surely you don't own all those tan parts, so may I ask which (Bricklink?) store you got those pieces from? Thanks, and keep building!
Actually, I didn't order any bricks from Bricklink. All of those 1x1 cheese slopes are from the Tower Bridge set. I highly recommend it! |

Ah, crap, Elliot. Sorry about the faux pas there. I was just looking at Andre Benjamin's works before I switched over to your frigate. I'd love to say that never happens, but I get names mixed up all the time. Well, I came back to this build to congratulate you for your spot on Across MOCpages, and to see if you would mind if I featured your ship on the My Current Favorites spot on my page sometime in the future. That's when I noticed my brain lapse. My apologies, sir.
Be my guest! And no worries on the whole name thing! :D

Very good, like the greeblies, although is that a bit of structural failure in the close up shot ;-)?
5*
No, it's held together by a few technic pins, but it has to be pulled out slightly to connect with something else that you can't see in the picture. Good eye though. :P

It's a good looking ship. But it does not look very "Halo-ish". The giant gears and fan belts are a bit distracting. They must be more than a thousand feet across. It's very punkish, and that in and of itself is not a bad thing, but it just doesn't mesh with the Halo style. The ship is photographed very well, and your pics illustrate the details quite effectively. I like the MOC, but it doesn't fit with your text. Just walk away from the whole Halo cult and build your own theme. If you stick with this style, it would be a very good theme indeed! Attack!
I think if it was all grey it would look almost exactly like a regular frigate. I just didn't want to do that because it seemed a little bland. I'll take your feedback into consideration for future builds though. :) |

Goodness, Andre, this is phenomenal. One of your best works yet. I love the greebling. Repeating the circular features there really adds something to the build. The coloring is the perfect pick. The thrusters look good, though my favorite part is the front. Well done!
