Multi-purpose Venusian Survey Vehicle (M-V-S-V)
In honour of David Roberts' new group for colourful space creations, I thought I'd build this little muti-purpose survey vehicle, with each of its survey appendages colour-coded. There are some nods to David Robert's building style as well.

Fun parts usage! I was getting worried for awhile... afraid you hadn't posted a top view pic. Patience... there is was! :)

Nice! I really like the way the different-colored arms contrast against the grey body! Awesome work!

Very cool, David. It looks like the ORRT may have borrowed this idea from the Swiss Army;) I like the thought of functionality that has obviously gone into this one. Some great NPU on the seats as a claw. I also like how it swivels. I always enjoy seeing where that imagination leads you. Well done. By the way, I went to school for art and wound up a bookstore manager. What does that say about me? You know, philosophically speaking?

Quoting Eric Landreneau Goofy and fun! Love the 2 innovative claw designs. This one looks like a kid's drawing of an exploration vehicle brought to (lego) life. BTW, this AFOL is a writer, licensed to teach English, but works as an optician. But I do often think I should switch to something more mechanical or engineeringish.
The children's drawing analogy is spot on and perfectly captures the spirit of this build.

Quoting David Roberts Another originally shaped MOC with loads of playability & fun. Were you a Lego designer in the 80's? The way that each limb is different is a nice, careful use of colour. Naturally, I love the special windscreen that the driver can't see out of! Great fun and I wish I'd had one when I was 10!
Yes that windscreen set-up looks cool but is totally impractical. I think I had the CS aesthetic hard-wirded into me over the years of developmental play. I think it also comes down to the way I work; I normally begin with an idea of what something might look like rather than a problem to solve or free-form play. As a point of interest it would be fun to find out what career path most AFOLs took in life. Most who I know a little seemed to engage with mechanics, sciences, engineering or similar, and it show in people's MOCS; I studied fine art and philosophy and now work for a University in a Theatre Department, which might explain a slightly less practical yet quirky approach to my builds.

I like this one! Good use of the chairs on the end of the arm! Looks like it could do 10 things at once! Great build, keep up the good work!
