Hero Factory - The Veterans
They are two of the most skilled and expierenced heroes, and they're Stormer's best comrades - Duncan Bulk and Jimi Stringer.
About this creation
With the release of the second Breakout toyline I could finally start working on the last members of the Hero Factory. I've already posted my take on Rocka and the recent revamp of Surge, this is the penultimate entry in my Hero Factory roster. The final one will be a powered version of Stormer.

But now let's talk about Stormer's pals!

Bulk, the big guy

I designed Bulk mostly with a Space Marine theme in mind, but there are various subtle references to his official sets: His cannon is mounted on his left arm (his first version was also a lefty), he got the 2.0 hero core and he got bulky shoulders, similiar to the Breakout version.
However, to me he looks more and more like Ironhide, probably because I'm totally psyched for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (it isn't released in Europe yet). Oh, and I'll apologize in advance in case I write "Bulkhead". Whenever I say Bulk's name in my mind, I tend to add the "-head" to it.

Bulk's arm cannon is obviously just one of those huge cannons from the Phantoka line. It looks like a fusion cannon, if you ask me.

The hammer, which was built from Thunder's claws, is a bit more complicated in it's build, however.

Here's a detail of the thing.

And a detail of it's back!

I hope all these pictures should help you to replicate the design for your own MOCs, if you want to.

I had lots of fun with designing Bulk's colour scheme, mostly because I came up with it while building him. First I put the silver armour on his shoulders, then the black shoulder pads, and I thought "That looks cool", so I tried to keep this black/silver/black pattern across his entire design.

Thanks to the awesome Drilldozer armour (a great part, too bad it thadn't been used since then), Bulk's back is also covered. I had only put a small TECHNIC piece at the lower section to finish the bulky look.

Stringer, the master of rock

Breakout Stringer is actually my first Stringer. I wasn't really a fan of the first heroes (although I got Stormer, Bulk and Surge), and his 3.0 version wasn't that appealing to me. But I am super in love with Breakout Stringer. His design is neat, the idea is brilliant, and he comes with a whole bunch of good parts. That's mostly the reason why my interpretation of Stringer is mostly inspired by the Breakout version (though the bulky armour on his forearms is a shout-out to his 3.0 version).

I altered Stringer's guitar blaster into an actual guitar and turned the speakers into shoulder-mounted cannons.

Sound cannons, fueled by the power of rock.

Yeah, he fights crime with rock music.

Stringer is awesome.

The guitar! As you can see, it got two connectors where he can grab it.

The inner side of it.

A detail of its head. Just imagine it got strings, okay?

Stringer's shoulder-mounted speakers. The design is similiar to that of Toxic Reapa's arms, though I used different parts (even the limb piece is different - it's one of those used as upper legs, for example).

Yet another look at them.

Since Stringer got still a sleek and narrow body and speakers need also some space to rest, his back is somewhat empty. I just placed a small gear at the lower body half.

And that's the Alpha Team!

Stay tuned for my rendition of Stormer XL, and don't forget to rate and comment these two here.

Quoting NoWhereMan . I can't believe I missed these two. My personal favorite of the two is Bulk, but Stringer looks good. I think the guitar looks too cluttered but what do I know? anyway, these look good and I'm looking forward to the new Stormer.
I'm also not to 100% satisfied with the guitar. It might would work better with him if the head would be black (it's also way too long). As for Stormer, he's online now, you can check him out here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/338924
